Not sure how this shocked anyone, but hey...clickbait. I do question how 23XI can claim they did not have a chance to negotiate after TWO YEARS of meetings. And I am sure NASCAR is quietly reaching out to people like Andretti, Earnhardt, and others who have expressed interest in joining the circuit. An Earnhardt team would make everyone forget Jordan in about three seconds.

The only contractual issue that I’d have, as a heavily invested team and charter LEASEE (Note: NOT a charter “owner”) is that my investment is NEVER my property. It’s a (so-called “asset” that truly NEVER BELONGS TO ME! I can purchase a $20- $30Million dollars piece of paper, but it can be legally revoked by someone with the last name “France,” or stripped away from me for any possible unspecified, and potentially unknown reason! What kind of a deal is THAT?!?

65% to tracks 25% to owners and 10% to nascar which really means 75% to Nascar and 25 to team owners. It was a terrible deal.

That was the old agreement, there has been no official word on the new split but it appears the teams will be a much larger piece and the tracks less. And when the original agreement was signed it was a good deal since it created the charters and locked in the value to teams.

I predict that when, February rolls around, and teams budget for that coming year, that there will be many fewer teams showing up for races. More then S.H. will decide that without enough pledged sponsorship for the whole year that would at least pay all the basic bills, they will turn to other venues.

Doubtful. I do not believe you understand the dynamic behind SHR shutting down. It had zero to do with budget and everything to do with Stewart losing interest (and possibly internal conflicts with Haas, likely since Haas retained a charter). Once Stewart married into drag racing the writing was on the wall that it would become his focus. Also note just how fast those charters sold. I do agree two existing teams will be gone (the 23 and 45), but there are many others who will acquire their charters. For one, Toyota knows they need more teams, the primary reason 23XI came into existence. they will help someone, possible one of the teams from IMSA that uses Toyotas.
