i bought a 2024 Ducati Diavel V4 5 weeks ago. been absolutely loving it! I cant wait to upgrade the exhaust soon too! why did you go the Termignoni dragster exhaust over the Akrapovic racing exhaust?
@sofi4at5053 күн бұрын
I would like to see you get a Diavel 1260s and see how you feel about it compared to the v4. Or the Desertx.
@DucatiDiaries3 күн бұрын
I had the 1260s and now the V4. I like the v4 better because it handles like a sport bike, I love the look, it accelerates so smoothly you're in triple digits without knowing it, and I absolutely love the stock quad exhaust. My only gripes are the stock exhaust could have been louder, and the 1260s had more torque. I miss that blast of torque but the V4 is faster and smoother. My friend has full exhaust and BT tune and it brings back the torque and makes the bike much more fierce. So if I get that done to my bike, I won't have any gripes at all about the v4.

Put a WRS touring screen on especially for highway riding but may take it off. Feels like it’s sending all the air right into my head. Takes it off your chest though but not sure if it’s better to have all the wind spread out

I think you may be seeing the transition between the two types of rubber compounds. The Pirelli Diablos have three zones. The center is hard rubber and the sides are the soft rubber for cornering. I can see on my tires as well since the rubber compound is different on the center.

@SlowRiderDucati17 күн бұрын
No warranty issues with the Termingoni Titanium Dragster Exhaust or the Upmap. The dealership just will not do the work or Upmap due to emission laws here in California. But it did not void the warranty as my bike has been worked on by the dealership several times since I installed the exhaust and upmap. Search Ducati Diavel V4 Upmap on Google and it comes up. About $500.00 US Dollars.

The NRC side plate comes with the extender wiring harness included so It is plug and play. Just unplug the harness NRC has a how to video. Just remove the left side engine cover by your left knee and you will see the connectors. If you need help just message me back.

Thanks for all of this. That was not the best way to explain the annual running cost. You cant really count the bike since most will have a payment and in 7 yrs you will prob recoup $12k in a sale with 140k miles. So you would have only paid $16k for the Diavel prior to the modifications, which you will loose money on. $4500 Gas 20k miles (CA) $1900 Insurance (CA) $500 1st service $850 9k km service $750 Tires x 2 sets $800 1 yr service and chain service $10,050 annual carrying cost. My takeaway is to expect a minimum $700 expense to visit the Ducati service center for anything. So in summary, in 7 yrs or 140k miles: 1. $70,350 in running cost 2. $44,800 of that is insurance and gas costs (which would be similar and unavoidable with any comparable 160hp bike) 3. $25,550 over 7 yrs or $3650 per yr is Diavel/Ducati Service/tires specific running cost 4. If you trade in the bike with 140k miles you will prob get less than avg Diavel with less miles. But lets low ball and say 12k at stealership. 28k -12k = 16k actual paid for the machine over 140k miles. Or $2,285 per yr for the bike. 5. So about $5935 per year running cost. (2285+3650)
@SlowRiderDucatiАй бұрын
I bought the 2024 Diavel V4 for a sticker price of $27,500.00 plus taxes etc. I have an older video which itemizes all of the costs. The $50,000.00 is the total receipts of everything so far after one year. Also I never plan on selling the bike that is why I dumped so much money into it. That is just how I roll. I still have my 1995 Chevy Silverado Z-71 LT 4X4 truck which has 350,000 miles on it and running strong. My son will take it over and run it another 500,000 miles.

I sat on the Diavel v4 and at 6'4", 35" inseam it has the most comfort of any bike I have sat on. Is it difficult to not speed on it for you as a mature man? I'm asking this as a new rider of similar age to you as I really dig the bike but am weary of being enticed into high speeds often as opposed to picking and choosing higher speeds in safer situations.
@SlowRiderDucati2 ай бұрын
I'm 6'1" 32 inseam and it fits great as well. It's easy to go the speed limit especially if you are just cruising on the highway. I mostly use the power for easy merging and passing. It is very smooth at speed so some self control is definitely required.

How complicated ! My single sided Triumph Sprint ST just has a big nut with a locking pin. A long nose pliers removes the (reusable) locking pin and then the socket and a breaker bar loosens the wheel nut. The bike has a mainstand so you just hold down the back break to loosen the nut...reverse to refit.

Hey Slowrider, I'd like your opinion...if you care to...I've priced a bunch of carbon fiber...Motomillion and other places...I am going to need to purchase a bit at a time (because I've got a government workers salary, not a rocket scientist salary)... any thoughts on the best place, and the best carbon weave looks wise for the Diavel.

I think I would start with the front and rear fenders, then the air scoops and lastly the engine covers. I like the standard weave in a flat finish. I think it will look awesome no matter what you do to it.

I have a few questions...first, I was really wanting to get a new exhaust system...but I live in the city, and go to work at 5am. How much louder, at idle is your exhaust? Would I be the pain in the a$$ neighbor if I change? Also, will smog or registration be an issue once it's on? I'd take is to the dealership for the install, as I'm not a rocket surgeon like you...
@SlowRiderDucati2 ай бұрын
If you live in SF then yes your neighbors will not like the extreme loudness of the Termignoni Titanium Dragster exhaust. Also no dealership will install in CA. Motorcycles only get smogged once when they are sold so it will never be checked. The only problem is that no dealership will install aftermarket exhaust systems on CA registered bikes. I think the Akropovic exhaust would be OK at idle since it is much quieter and I think the dealership will install if you buy it from them. I know they will install in Texas if you really want to. I would call first. Once you have it done then you are essentially an Outlaw biker like me riding in a grey zone. My neighbor is a CHP and he said they don't care unless you're driving like a complete idiot. The easiest way to get the exhaust is to register your bike in Nevada at a friend or relatives house. Then the Reno Ducati will install for you and it will not void your warranty. The Rocklin Ducati dealership just did my 19,000 mile service and my Termignoni Titanium Dragster exhaust doesn't void the warranty and I also remapped my bikes brain to match the exhaust and force full time Four cylinder mode.
