I wasn't really as frustrated this game as I was with the Minn and NW games. I was impressed with the Defense with the exception of two drives (Oregon's 1st and "middle 8" before half drive (although TE was out)). I did like how the DC did not put pressure on the young CBs by running M2M, zone allowed them to keep everything in front and put the pressure on your best players front 7 and safeties protecting the deep field. Offensively, we missed out on opportunities early with the penalty and then a poor call on the 4th and 9 (would have went for FG). The sack/fumble td didn't help. I felt where MD struggled offensively, was when we tried to force play calling for Prather. Overall, a game like that, we need a QB to be special and Billy who managed the game very well early in the season struggled with trajectory of passes with 7 or 8 batted passes at the line and the two critical interceptions late in the game. I wouldn't be opposed with playing MJ, it's been two games in a row that we've seen poor QB play, we are a junction of the season where we aren't entirely out of the bowl race, but playing MJ could give team a spark.

A lot of the game was lost upfront once again. The OL can’t produce running lanes which makes it tough to gauge Billy. While he’s the best option on the team, his success has been because of the receivers abilities to get open. Each close moment throughout the season other than USC, he hasn’t made the plays. We have 3 (possibly more) receivers and 2 tight ends that will all have a chance for the NFL, which was evident with how easily they separated against Oregon. If Octavian comes back next year which I imagine he will, it looks like he’s going to be receiver number 1 and Knotts looks like it as well. Billy missed him on a pass he would’ve taken to the house.

Tre, great job on being realistic and true to what we are as a team, appreciate that from you. We will be better next season, although there is going to be major changes and significant growth opportunities. Regarding the Oregon game, If the young men go in and play smart and to win, we can cover. As you mention, there is so much to be desired from the current guys starting at OL and CB room. However, these guys want to be great, so go play great, be discipline, be aggressive, they have nothing to lose, so be loose. Hoping the Terps can surprise the nation, but I'm not expecting it. If we cover and they play hard all four quarters, it's a win in my book.

How can you honestly say Oregon doesn't look like the best team thus far? Ohio state has not looked elite since playing Oregon has not dominated any team since. Georgia has a QB who is a turnover machine. Texas hasn't been dominant as of late. Oregon has dominated every B1G opponent aside from Ohio State while Oregon has only improved every game since while the Bucks have looked shaky at best since. It's all good though, every Oregon opponent fan base probably had similar thoughts until after Oregon crushed their team in the B1G. Good luck.

Ohio St has looked vulnerable since Oregon beat them. Also, Ohio St was gifted a TD on their first TD drive against the Ducks. Oregon had a clear interception and the refs not only didn't call the interception they didn't even review the play, which 100% should have happened. Oregon also tried to get cute and go for a couple 2 pts conversions which they didn't execute. Gabriel also missed a 5 yard pass to Tez Johnson in the redzone which would have been a walk-in TD. That was a very uncharacteristic missed pass considering Gabriel is one of, if not the, most accurate QB in the country. And then they also had a missed 44 yard FG which our kicker makes 9/10 times. Point being, Oregon probably should have beat Ohio St by a couple scores. Oregon had more passing yds, more rushing yds, more passing yds per attempt, more yds per play, a higher 3rd down conversion percentage and less turnovers so objectively Oregon was the better team that day. It wasn't some fluke win or Oregon just got lucky. In fact, Oregon didn't play their best game at all. And like I said, Ohio St has looked vulnerable since the loss to Oregon whereas Oregon has improved week in and week out. Ohio St almost lost to an average at best Nebraska who got beat comfortably by Colorado, got cooked by Indiana and just lost to UCLA. UCLA did better against Nebraska than tOSU did. They did beat Penn St by a TD, but I think PSU is extremely overrated. They're just your typical PSU. Beat inferior teams while losing to teams with a pulse. Pretty much PSU under Franklin in a nutshell. If UGA is fully clicking they'd pose a risk to Oregon, but UGA has looked very beatable this season. This isn't the 2021 or 2022 Bulldogs. As far as Maryland goes they have to travel over 3k miles to play the #1 team in one of the most hostile CFB environments in CFB. Oregon has lost just once at home in six years. Not sure if Maryland will be the school to break that chain. My guess is: ORE 41 MD 13

Sorry Zero chance keeping it close, Oregon 48-14, too fast and too loud at home. However maybe team eats well on the trip. Oregon had numerous screw ups in red zone or would have beaten OSU by 25, check the stats 490 yards of offense against OSU.
