Thanks for this very thorough demonstration of the dough whisk as I am considering buying one and wanted to know the pros and cons of it 🙂

It's all about using a tool, when it will do a job better, in a special way, for a given task. Otherwise, you could mix dough with a stick. I'd rather beat eggs/ milk together with a whisk than a fork. When I make some doughs, like cookie dough, it is constantly sticking to the spoon. It seems a whisk could avoid that- however, I think there is one missing factor. I think a whisk would best combine with a sturdy bowl, where you can give it some good raps on the side (or maybe on the side of another tool or cutting board or such), if dough sticks, & not defeating the point of keeping your hands out of the dough. I received a dough whisk in a set, so now I see some purpose for it, after some thought + this video.

You certainly CAN do cookies in a cast iron skillet. You just had the pan too hot when you put the dough in and the flame was up too high. Have some patience and cook slower and it will work for you.

For teaspoon precision, just hit up your local head shop. Those scales do fractions of ounces and grams.

Hello! Can you please repost a link for the recipe? I had it bookmarked to refer back to but the link is no longer working. Next time I’ll take a screenshot because this is the only recipe that keeps my cookies from spreading.

This review was amazing. You helped me make the choice of the Oxo. I am a calorie counter and use my scale every day all day and the current one I have now is a pain in the ass. Looking forward to this nice upgrade.

Hi, does anyone have a working link for the written recipe? The link in the description is not working for me. Please and thank you! 🙏🙏🙏 (I tried typing it while watching the video, but not sure on the measurements on butter and others)

My current ones that have a 5KG limit and weigh in 1g increments, seem accurate at lower weights but when it starts getting past 2.5 KG they read about +60g heavier than the actual weight. All I care about it the accuracy at all weights. If I only use those scales to weigh something that's say 2 KG and I want to divide that into 20 containers then I do end up with 100g per container, so they are accurate "to themselves" but overall on heavy weights, not accurate.

I'm on my second MyWeigh. The first one lasted about six years before the power button broke through. I opened it up, cleaned all the years of food out, and made a makeshift power button with tape and printer paper. It now lives in the garage. The new one replaced it in the kitchen. Yes, it's huge, but it is by FAR the best consumer scale I've ever had. You can turn the speed up so that it responds to changing weight (you showed this but didn't explain), and will weigh something as little as 2 grams. It also holds its calibration very well. Yes, I'm that guy that calibrates his scales. After years of kitchen abuse, it was only off by maybe 2 grams at 5 kg after an initial break-in period where it varied a bit. Its accuracy is nearly the same as my A&D 6000i professional scale. Both repeatability and precision are top-notch.

Excellent review. Well organized, clear, honest, and funny. I really appreciate that you use them for a good length of time before reviewing. My only suggestion would be to measure light, mid, and heavyweight items for which you know the exact mass and compare their accuracy. I look forward to watching more of your videos.

Honestly I probably would have just cumin instead of fennel anyway - I also don't like fennel. And isn't cilantro just Spanish for coriander? Still don't know if it wanted the seeds or leaves though, or even ground or whole if it does mean seeds.
