Hi Science ready, this is very thorough video. I didn't know about the resonance on the amides. Its above ATAR requirements for Qld, and its only HL not SL for IB. You did miss dimers though. I teach dimers for both ATAR and IB and it is verified in the research journals for carboxylic acids and amides. The increased ionic character from resonance in amides would just make the dimers work better. Need to add dimers I feel. BTW EN difference in carbonyl group C vs O is 0.8 which is the same as the N vs H (0.8) so the explanation is insufficient based on EN difference. Might be because of the fact it is a double C=O not single? (Again we are probably going past the limits of HS chemistry). Cheers.

Thank you for your feedback. The concept of dimers is explored in the carboxylic acid video. I think the concept of resonance should be explored to justify the BP difference between carboxylic acids and amides (it is actually quite significant).

Time dilation is just one aspect of dilation, it's not just time that gets dilated, hence the term "mass becomes infinite at the speed of light"

Could you explain where the "methyl" came from, please !
@Riaenough_20 күн бұрын
CH3 was methyl and if this both come CH2 - CH3 We can give the name Eethyne Sry for the grammar mistakes😅❤

easier if you just said radiation (thermal heat) was just photons being spit out by atoms. so much easier to understand radiation as photons in the case of thermal heat.

Hey there, I had a question about experiments to determine relationship between distance and torque applied by a constant force at a constant angle. Often there's questions that give data upto around 45 or 60 degrees, which shows a linear relationship, however in reality as it approaches 90 degrees, due to the equation it should be curved near the top. Does this mean that the experiment/data is "valid" but not "accurate"? Also, how can I assess the 'reliability' of this experiment

alkanals and alkanones can form H-bond with water making them soluble in waters you're wrong when you compare the BP and MP of alkanals and alkanones to carboxylic acid and you said they can't form H- BOND
