I have a3 and a bimmer 220i. 220i has a much much better driving dynamic than the a3. Although the 220i I have is newer but it's a better purchase than the a3.

One long drive is enough to adjust to getting used to changing gears without clutch, specially for people used to manual. No stall feature and higher gear range helps to adjust without any hiccups.
