I opened Furnace for the first time, it's beautiful! Then I closed that effects list windows and was unable to bring it back, it is not listed in the windows menu it seems? I ended up deleting the furnace folder in the .config directory (linux) to get around that.

For now, I believe one would have to write some sort of Furnace module replayer or driver that can be played on an actual GBA, DS, or 3DS. Right now, we have MinMod (a GBA driver by Natt Akuma). I believe tildearrow (creator of Furnace) might have plans for that in the near future.

I don't watch movies, but I have seen parts of the Guardians of the Galaxy movies. Regarding Vol. 3, the part I saw was when Rocket Raccoon was in a coma, and he was in some kind of spirit world. I do know the character has a dark and troubled past, so I was feeling quite bad for him during that part of the movie.

Seriously out of all these songs The Beginning of the Journey is probably my favourite, I'm genuinely upset that anyone gave you bad criticism about it or its making story, because that was a very good song! My only complaint really is that it is too short, I keep replaying it for the last couple minutes, it inspires me to attempt covering it, it has a really catchy bassline!

Yeah, I have indeed come back to like the song after three and a half years, though it is a remake of a Famicom tune I did back in 2017 (which is what got it disqualified in the Chiptune Café 8-Bit Jam). I do have the 0CC-FamiTracker module of the original version I could probably send you. It is in a different key (I transposed the song up a few scales in the PC Engine version as I felt like the bass was either too low or too high when I was remaking it). I also agree that it is quite short compared to the original songs I make nowadays.

If you want to I'd like to give that a shot based on your module, I can fill the gaps by ear and add my own touch to it in the process. I had no idea it was made in a different key, but this is actually a very good thing you mention it because it may be the perfect occasion to try out a "transpose by key" functionality I created some time ago!

I can relate to all of this honestly, I'm glad you are moving on with the past and made these song available again. I did not remember you covered a song of mine in that list (and I honestly really don't like that song either for pretty much the same reasons as you may dislike your earlier songs) but it's nice to see it is also included.

I covered that song of yours for the Out of Time 2 Jam held in the Chiptune Café server sometime in late 2020. I believe I garnered a dislike towards that cover because of a passing remark made by Drake in the jam's stream (though in hindsight, I do agree with his remark now, since it didn't necessarily fit in with the theme of the jam, and it got last place as a result), coupled with my distaste I had towards the stream of the 8-Bit Jam at the time.

I see, sorry this happened, in hindsight my song wasn't really good to begin with so it isn't too surprising it did not fare well. I think you did a very good job for the cover however!

Forgot to mention in the description (not enough character space to put there) that I also did a PCE cover of RoboCop 3 at some point in 2017, and that one had a large number of dislikes on my main channel (the song has since been deleted), which did affect my thoughts on it. I might still have the module for it in my Windows XP machine (although I usually have to go "deep-sea diving" for it, since I pretty much wanted to forget about it). These days, I no longer let numbers on a counter affect my thoughts on any song I make now. (Update 5/26/2024: I have found the module to this cover in my Surface Pro! Based on the date in the file, I seemed to have transferred it to my Surface Pro some time in 2022. I have shared the module in my Discord server if you want to check it out).

Additional notes that apply specifically to this part: I decided to include a lot of covers here. I did cover songs from some mainstream artists who were likely very relevant in the early 2010s, but I decided to only include my cover of Kesha's 2010 song "Take it Off" as, though there might be some inaccuracies, I did attempt to get the notes entirely by memory, and some parts were improvised due to Medly Music Maker only giving you 8 tracks to work with (plus, I didn't have access to pitch-bending and other automation features since my iPad 2 running iOS 9.3.5 didn't support them). I also did a Beatwave cover of this song before my Medly cover, but that one had too many inaccuracies for me to include it here. In any case, all rights to this song are owned by Kesha herself and RCA Records. Both Marble Madness songs were done because, one day, I thought "these songs are simple, I should cover them!" I think I wanted to do all songs, but only did the first two in-game tracks. I also did Totaka's song because of how incredibly simple it is. The song "Roads" is a demo song that comes with Beatwave (one of the apps I used to use on my iPad). I decided one day to transcribe the notes in to Auxy and record it like how I used to play it in Beatwave. "Song of Beatwave" is actually a demo song that comes with Beatwave. I believe the original name for this song is "Universal Fallacy." All I did was change the instruments and name of the song. This song went through many iterations of whatever instrument I thought sounded great with the song. In fact, one version even used my own voice as an instrument! But, I went with the version I recorded before making a version that used my voice. Smooth Criminal is the second Michael Jackson song I ever covered. I believe by the time I did that, my thoughts on the Sega Genesis were changed, and I warmed up to the covers found in the video game adaptation of Michael Jackson's Moonwalker. Like Marble Madness, I wanted to do all songs, but the source for Billie Jean is now lost to time, and I also had started on Beat It, which I later abandoned due to an update that made the guitars sound less like rock and distortion guitars. For the song "Until The Sun Sets," I used two tracks for the percussion, one for the "highpass percussion," and another for the normal sounding percussion. It was my workaround for not having automation features on iPad 2 (although admittedly, it is a little tacky). I had to do some volume correction on some of the songs. In their original recordings, they were going way above 1.0db (I like to have my recordings not go above this mark).

Some additional notes that apply specifically to this part of my pre-chiptunes collection: Lots of lengthy tunes, huh? At some point, I created songs where I just kept adding and adding stuff. In fact, I left out a lot of tunes because I felt like they dragged on for way too long. The song "Some Hip Hop Thing" is perhaps the only hip hop tune you'll ever hear from me. It was created sometime in 2016 in Auxy Studio. I did use Auxy Classic to try and make some tunes in the vein of hip hop, with mixed results. The song "WWW: The Internet Cyberspace" is in a chromatic scale, but unlike "Ionic Offense" from part 1, I tried to choose notes that didn't clash too much with each other when I made it in 2015. It sounds alright, I guess. The only cover in this part is Volcanic Velocity (mentioned in the pinned comment in part 1). It's from an obscure Game Maker game from 2009 called "Pam's Adventure: The New Adventure." It and Dark Dungeon were included with The Ultimate Megadrive Soundfont, which was why I covered both the songs because I thought they were catchy. The song "Year 6 (Settle Down)" could alternatively be called "The Beatwave Medley." If I recall, when I was first making it, I was unsatisfied with the melodies I put, so I just took melodies from a bunch of tunes I made before it. You may hear some songs sounding like they jump a bit. Maybe related to the age of my 2nd generation iPad, but at some point, when it came to recording songs with Beatwave's built-in audio recorder, just moving the screen around while playing the song would cause it to jump. This started happening around 2016. The hi-hat retrigger in the song mentioned above was an unintended result of this. I kept it because I thought it sounded cool. The song "Thinking of You" has nothing to do with the Katy Perry song of the same name. This is a completely original song from yours truly, originally created in 2014, and last updated in 2015.

Some additional notes (this applies to part 1 and 2 of this video): I did indeed do a few covers, but I decided to only include two of them because the others had too many inaccuracies incurred either by being limited to only 4 tracks (Auxy Classic and Beatwave), not having access to certain features (automation in Medly Music Maker since I have a 2nd generation iPad running iOS 9.3.5), or a complete improvisation of certain parts that I now think didn't work out too well. Billie Jean is a well-known song, and Dark Dungeon is from some obscure Game Maker game from 2009 called "Pam's Adventure: The New Adventure." I only covered it (as well as Volcanic Velocity found in part 2) because it was included with The Ultimate Megadrive Soundfont (I was into "chiptune" soundfonts when I covered the tune). I let some of my relatives (mainly my sister and cousin) try their hand at making music, and at some point, I either did my own version of their songs or I mashed them into one song. I only uploaded my versions of those songs. "JS1997" is the initials of one of my previous usernames (JetStar1997). You'll hear many songs reusing the same notes and beats and whatnot. On some songs, I attempted to emulate a sound system with a limited amount of polyphony. It doesn't work out too well since the instruments have a set release rate. As such, whatever limited polyphony I was going for ended up being broken anyway. The song "Ionic Offense" was originally done entirely in a chromatic scale. In 2015 (when I did this song), I had no concept of musical scales, so I just went with it. But, for the sake of better listening (and I think the song sounds too strange and unlistenable now), I re-recorded the song with the aeolian scale. Over time, I would update the songs either because I wanted to change or improve a few things or take advantage of what new things were added to apps I used. All songs in both parts are the latest versions I did before abandoning music making apps on iPad in 2017.
