Listen to the talent in what is actually a very young 17-year old voice!!! Is there any double that the genes of Hank Williams Sr. were passed down to Jr. completely by God by the bushel fulls to future generations to enjoy?!?! Absolutely love these first early recordings of Hank Jr.!!! I don’t know why they haven’t been recognized much, much more as historically classical?!?! Thank you, Father for this great musical talent!!!

It is my understanding that this one was always a limited, or rare, album. MGM had a Golden Archives Series orf recordings that featured various artists and each artist had his album contribution. If you will notice, the pictures of Hank Jr were originally used for the album Country Shadows.
@TheNuklearMoose3 ай бұрын
That's really cool information. I didn't realize it but its a great compilation of his songs as well. A couple aren't previously on albums either if I can recall? I will have to look up more about the MGM Golden Archives Series though

I lived at Boles Acres in Alamogordo, New Mexico. Calvin was a prosperous real estate man. He owned the Yucca label. There are alot of good singles on Yucca, like Bobby Fuller of "I Fought The Law" fame.

Hank is the best, I been a fan ever since I was 12, now here I am 70 years old and he still the man. I love all of his style of music.

I Have been a fan of Hank and Hank jr for many years. My whole family was a Hank Sr and jr fan. I have followed Hank, Jr. since I was around 12 years old. I got to see him live on stage at six flags over Texas when I was 18 years old. I got his autograph, along with Jerry River. I wanted to Hank and tell him how much I love his music. But the people crowded him so I didn't get to talk with him. I did get to talk to Jerry River and told him I was an Alabama boy and Jerry told some things about his Daddy and Hank Jr. I was an Air Force enlisted at the time. I went to many concerts in Fort worth and Dallas since I stay in Ft. Worth for 29 years, before coming back to Bama. Hank is my Man, he,s the best.

Additional after hearing the entire album. How sad Jr was not given more air time in his earlier days. His cover of I cannot be myself is fantastic. It also speaks about the original thru mid 70 country. Artists could not be themselves & carry tradition & succeedCFC

I haven’t listened to much Johnny and Jack but from what I’ve heard it was great. My guess was it was meant to be a group to include his family in, as Kitty , Ruby and others were included in these records.
