I don't get it. The driver and passenger doors aren't secured/padlocked. Only the cabin contents are secured, which I understand, of course. I had all my doors secured and padlocked with plates as well, but they broke my passenger window , entered , and stole the entire van. It's been 48 hours since the theft so far . Great DIY video BTW!!

What if fan constantly runs. Replaces the switch, the relay and the capacitor. Noticed some burning on the fan motor wire that connects to capacitor under "fan". I cut cable and put new fitting. I turned on power and fan started up for a second then didn't run until I turned on unit from inside and then it never turned off. Not sure what my issue is. Needing guidance.

I’ve got a customer here with rental properties and ended up buying an 80% ultra low NOx off of Ebay and we’re in Ohio Well, after a year, I get called to go look at this thing and it’s not running The tenants son-in-law had it torn apart to try to clean the flame sensor, this is a Nortek 14 1/2 inch cabinet, everything is shoehorned in, the damn flame rod and igniter are buried behind a plate on top of the burner box in the heat exchanger compartment a giant pain in the ass to even get out. I finally got the flame rod out, and it was caked yellow with combustion products. The worst I’ve ever seen. I had to use Emery cloth and find sandpaper to even clean it before I could even see stainless steel again Then to put the bastard ass thing back in close it all up try the furnace again and all it does is open the gas valve for like a second maybe two seconds and shut down Well, this landlord had another brand new normal 80% furnace normal cabinet with so we said screw this thing A single technician that I talked with that distributor or friends that I called even knew about these things only one guy did at the distributor and the distributor knew, but they’ve never sold them because this is Ohio not California 😖 Still would like to figure out why this thing was doing what it was doing so we could try to sell it and get some of his money back These things are garbage from all the videos I’ve seen from all the posts I’ve seen on Reddit, endless technicians, saying they’ve had to replace dozens of burner boxes or transducer or this or that, I would never tell a customer in California to get one of these find a way to get a heat pump And avoid these pieces of shit or smuggle in a furnace from Nevada Until he can make this technology better and more serviceable and reliable it’s a disaster And if you want to see video of this whole nonsense that I just worked on, just say so here and I’ll post a link

Very helpful. My carrier furnace unit will not run unless I tap the dual pressure switch on my carrier unit. I have ordered a new dual pressure switch and will try to install it in hopes that a faulty switch was my root cause.

Very thoroughly done my friend!!!! Quick question, how would you know if its the inducor motor or the board itself? I ask because when i hit the switch for my furnace. It calls for heat but the blower cranks for a split sec and stops and the same time the inducor motor fan spins 1/8 of an inch and stops as well.. the pilot just continues to try to fire u the burners during this whole time and nothing happens. Every once in a while when i flip the switch it will turn on and heat the house until the desired temp is met then it will go off and never start again until play around with it again but not its not turning on heat blower etc at all...just the pilot light flicking on and off repeatedly. (New pilot assembly etc is on it)

Hi, i’m having an issue with the exact same double-sided Williams heater brand new out the box. pilot turns on but the burners won’t crank up. No thermostat installed. I just turned the gas valve all the way on, but the burners won’t ignite.
@erikcable175517 күн бұрын
if you have a knob on the gas valve, it must have another dial with control numbers so you can set the room temperature. If no control numbers you will need a thermostat...

R454b is not a good refrigerant. It has poor electrical efficiency and does not work in cold climates. R32 and R290 are far superior for cold climates when used in ATW mono-block heat pumps for cold climates. They both heat and cool effectively and have very good COP. R290 has the lowest GWP of just 3. Europe and Asia have been using these refrigerants for years because they are cheap and work best. The US is way behind the rest of the world because the refrigerant manufacturers are lobbying hard to spread the false claims that hydrocarbon refrigerants are dangerous so they can sell their own expensive blends that are inefficient.

They are ruining a great professions , which these new Freon refrigerants, I worked with R-12, and R-22, and R-502. In a Ice plant, we ran R-12 in a commercial Ice machine for package ice. We also ran R-717, which is a Ammonia refrigerant, but we had water cooling towers, because of the high pressure. R-12, and R-22 were great freon gasses, back then you need no EPA license to get them, now Manufactuing companies have to design compressors, and evaporators, and condensing units to be able to operated, these newer CFC, and HFC, and ozone free gas to work, but now all Refrigeration and Air conditions techs, have to train in this too. The customers will have to pay for all this,, and equipment is not cheap when you have to replace it, that means more expensive billing, and contractors have to charge more, so can take in black and make a profit as well.

So their expected life span is not based on reality of thermal and other factors in reality. Its just a model in some isolated test that they can claim the highest numbers. Got it! Great info! Its 40F here, and supposed to be about 34 in coming days. I replaced my York control board, and the A5 was maybe newer model, and just a YEAR passed and its the same thing, it wont turn the fan off, as the relay is toast. Now I was about to put it in the 2nd time, and I FORGOT where most of the wires go for the power side of the furnace (not the thermostat wires). So I in one way hoping it is the control board, but yet to be able to install. Any photos of a 1980s York (Coleman?) Model 031-01972-000 (A4 and A5 at the end of the chip model name on different boards) Originally A4, A5 went bad in a year, now have a A4 again. Not sure if they make any difference). I got the order I think, but there were tabs skipped, and I think I confused it where the black wire had another black jumper to it, then I thought 3 tabs to skip...but maybe there is a wire, perhaps white I dont need to use? Ugh!

Is it a regional thing to refer to R454b as "new r410"? It is confusing to hear that, not sure which refrigerant is being spoken about
@Satchmoeddie2 ай бұрын
If it is a gas pack air conditioner / furnace combination unit, the refrigerant is under HIGH pressure, FLAMMABLE natural gas is under low pressure, and the gas burners can produce deadly combustion CO2 gas. There are also the aformentioned high AC voltages that can KILL YOU! I work on electrical equipment, tube guitar amps, audio processing, audio reproduction equipment, PA systems and radio equipment that uses voltages from fractions of a volt up to multiple tens of thousands of volts. The modern HVAC equipment will go through self diagnostic tests and it could try to start up without any notice, so if you are working on it while the electricty is on, keep that in mind! If you go in to change parts TURN THE POWER OFF AT THE BREAKER AND PULL THE DISCONNECT TOO! You cannot be too safe. I did lots of HVACR work, up until the EPA got into the business. I did all the air conditioning work for two taxi cab companies and several poperty management companies, around the Phoenix area. Taxis are required to have working AC. It kept me plenty busy, until I was required to have R12, R22, R134, and R410 recovery systems. F' that! The new R134A/R1234YF recovery unit is close to $10,000. I made more money doing motor control, automation and instrumentation work.
