Honestly I am forming a head canon of sorts where I pick and choose. If the story works or is not contradicted, I allow it into my historical view of these events.

Disney's timeline is complete shit the movies are shit the shows are shit, once Kathleen Kennedy and Bob iger and most the executives retire in like 10 years do you think those new executives are going to look at "Legends" as non-canon? On one side you have all of the Disney's failures on the other side you have a chance to make up for that they could potentially make billions and billions of dollars please be just a matter of time before they retcon everything that they made in the last 10 years

Legends or 'Extended Universe' as it's proper title, is the only Canon I accept. Sure it had a lot of narrative problems but at least the various authors and creators treated it like ACTUAL STAR WARS and not some vehicle for a glorified self-insert for the sake of a cash grab. Passion for a setting over using it as propaganda. The EU was FUN.

Some of the stories in Legends are better than anything in canon, but the EU was just a compilation of fanfiction that George had no involvement in. Canon at least has a consistent timeline that makes sense.

Legends hands down. But I am willing to use some Disney stuff to fill gaps in the old EU, as long as it doesn’t contradict anything.

Fallen Order was amazing, Survivor was good even though it mentions the High Republic. Aside from those two things - Legends all the way dude. It's not even a competition. Canon is just taking legends and retelling them, but doing so haphazardly in my opinion. I haven't really been impressed. Bleeding a crystal is a neat concept though.

LEGENDS... no argument. no contest. LEGENDS is infinitely better than CANON. If they made new trilogies of Vitiate, trilogy of Exar Kun, and a trilogy of Revan... all three can combine to make the most EPIC or LEGENDary CANON trilogies!!!

It was trash, packed full of exposition, horrific writing, horrific acting and plotholes. It was so bad in fact that hate-watchers couldn't even bring themselves to hate-watch it, and was the lowest viewed Star Wars series of all time. These are all also the reasons it got cancelled. Then on top of that the destruction of key-lore in the franchise (and no, it has nothing to do with a birthdate). You guys know this too, and you know full well how much better this would've been if Favreau or Filoni had been head writers and headed the project. Leslye actually was once a writer/producer who wanted to push boundaries, be edgy and wasn't interested in injecting left or ring wing politics into her projects, and The Acolyte is a result of those projects receiving heavy pushbacks from the big wigs in the industry against any edginess or anything offensive... she, despite the talent she actually has, decided to focus too much on diversity and ideology in order to pander to her bosses and become successful, and now as a result of this has destroyed her reputation. I hope she bounces back from this and goes back to what her original visions were for film and TV, people will get behind her if she is genuine.

If you want some context, actress and conservative commentator Brett Cooper told her story about working under Leslye Headland on a TV series which Leslye had written, she says the original script was edgy and had a lot of offensive things in it, but it was very funny and Leslye believed it would be her big break... as usual the heads of the production company nuked it and hired people to help her rewrite it to have nothing offensive in it, and subsequently it ended up being horribly unfunny and it flopped like a fish out of water. It seems after this project Leslye decided the best way to actually get herself into a higher position in the industry was to pander.

Do you see where you think it is a bummer that the show was canceled because it was diverse, not because it was good? Not because you wanted to see the story continue, and to see where it goes? That is why it is canceled. The show isn’t good, and the only thing that it was used for was to shove “diversity” down people’s throats. It was more diverse before it started trying to be diverse.

Legends has more good stories cause it was around longer. But I do enjoy the new Canon a lot I love seeing the new stories. Both have ups and downs and I'm excited to see more of Canon.

I feel like both have flaws that people tend to ignore. I mean, the idea to bring Palpatine back from the dead was originally a Legends idea.

It was that's true, I think JJ just bastardized and rushed it though. Dark Empire had such cool elements, like the planet Byss, the X1-Viper Shadow Droids that could also slightly touch the dark side because of the resurrected cloned Emperor. The colossal and cool designed "Eclipse" star destroyer. The giant Imperial Sentinels.

and legends did that bad idea far better than disney did... legends did stupid things too but did far more good than bad unlike disney wars... nothing disney has made comes even close to the darth plagueis novel, bane trilogy, original thrawn trilogy and the entire New Jedi Order saga... kylo ren is a watered down, diet coke zero version of darth caedus (jason solo) from the EU...

@@M01eFANatic79 he didnt hate the EU novels, citation is required on that one bub (even though he took several things from legends and made it canon like the planet coruscant as an example) also he worked with many of the EU authors while they were writing said novels... so you will need to back up that claim in a big way. dark empire was far better than anything disney made, aside from the palpatine returning stuff dark empire was a decent story...

Legends is definitely better about this stuff. But there are some pretty good canon books out there. Read any of Timothy Zahn’s new books and you’ll see such an intriguing and intricate view of the force. Having just come across the Skywalker’s in depth in the Thrawn Acendancy novels I can’t deny that there are some pretty great stuff

Keanu Reeves thankfully ended up NOT playing "Sol" in the stupid Acolyte, but Lucasfilm says the door is very much open for him to return to star in future starwars projects so watch this space.

Legends wasn't perfect--I'm thinking especially of about 95% of the stuff set during and after the Vong, plus a few duds even in the heyday--but I'd still take it over the Disney canon.

THE EXPANDED UNIVERSE is the actual name, anything produced by those who labeled it "legends" is NOT CANON. NO LUCAS, NO CANON, NO TOLKIEN, NO CANON. If the creator is not involved is all FAN FICTION, no matter how much one oays for the name.
