Every time anything changes in the way I do something in my life/ here, I get people like yourself giving me shit about it. I don’t care if you don’t like it. Don’t watch the gaming videos. That easy. I’m using them now as a place where I can put my more personal updates without including that in my wildlife vids. Then I won’t have others complaining that there’s too much personal in those vids, just stick to wildlife. I’m not going to please everyone, so watch the vids you want or don’t watch them at all. I don’t care, I have to continue on

Btw… don’t assume what’s a waste of time for me. Before the games I was spending an equal amount of time (for years now) watching KZbin videos by myself. The gaming allows me a separate space to talk my personal life and invites subscribers to be able to have discussions in real time with me. In my life, the gaming is an improvement, and my earlier dismissal of gaming as a waste of time kept me from spending more quality with one of my recent partners. Gaming is as much a social outlet for people now as just entertainment. I’m talking the same personal stuff there as I would just taking a walk outside to record it for a video. You simply don’t appreciate the scenery and that’s not my problem

Plus, you want to get by in the future, how do you know expert adeptness with a gaming controller or console or whatever won’t be entirely necessary? Already part of having cost me a valued relationship

@@akayokaki I used to think that video games were a total waste of time, and in many ways, I still do. However, I also realize that the video games of today is nothing like the video games of yesterday. You can actually develop useful skills thru gaming. I mean pilots use flight simulators for training, and these simulators are, essentially, a video game. So many useful things in our lives today are operated via video game-like controllers and/or movements. The military is using more and more drones these days. I am confident that, in the near future, we will no longer need pilots to fly fighter jets. The fighter jet will be controlled by a "pilot" sitting in an office somewhere using a control device. Your warriors of the future will not be Navy SEALS or Green Berets. Your warrior will be whomever is most adept at controlling a military drone, and that guy could be a 98-lb perpetual pencil neck, with a sunken-in chest, and with shoulders that resemble a wire coat hanger. Yet from the comfort of his air conditioned office located in some military bunker, he will be able to control a drone to drop bombs and shoot missiles and take out thousands of ground troops halfway around the world. Scientists use robot arms in the deep ocean to collect and repair things. Same for astronauts. Surgeons manipulate controls to for many surgical procedures. Many gamers make tons of money via gaming. Then you have the social aspect, whether we like it or not, friendships and relationships are built and maintained thru gaming, in the same way as they are via other more traditional activities, such as golf, bowling, or the weekly poker game.

@@akayokaki I used to think that social media was a total waste of time - Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc. I know they're very useful for businesses; however, for social activities, I felt they were a waste of time. But then, slowly but surely, I noticed that I started to lose touch with friends and family (especially the younger people in my family). Whether I like it or not, their main way of regular communication is via social media. They ain't gonna call me on the phone (unless it's an emergency), and they sure as heck ain't gonna write a letter. They rarely email or even text. Their preferred way of communication is via direct messaging via social media. And I now realize that they're not gonna change for me. I need to adapt to them. If I don't, then I will be left behind. It's as simple as that.
