I don’t see that big of a difference. I wonder why? I have seen many on here and seen drastic improvement. I barely can tell. I’m sure the person appreciates any change for the better. Although, it seems there could have been more taken out. Is it because she was awake? Could you have gotten more?

Great presentation. My mom had stage 3 (thigh/arm) and I do too. The thing is, she never knew! She was in and out of doctors her whole adult life trying to understand what was wrong, and her only diagnosis was, you called it, Fibromyalgia. Can't wait to come see you!

What kind of compression can be done on the thighs and rear? I have been exercising for over a year and have only lost 20 lbs Mostly in the middle. I've tried fasting and all kinds of diets. I only eat 2 meals each day and most time I don't feel hungry. I've always wondered if I had lipedema or fibromyalgia because of the pain i feel just by scratching an itch on my thighs and upper arms. I'll be 48 in march. I work as a cosmetologist so I'm on my feet all day. I can't afford insurance so any advice would be astounding to me. Thank you for your infomative video.

After what I thought were typical lipedema symptoms, I was told I don't have lipedema by a vascular surgeon. In the past 9 mos. I've lost 80 lbs and around 5-6" reduction in each calf, but cankles remain and calves are still too big for any regular boots. I know vascular surgeons aren't lipedema experts, but now I'm wondering. Is the lipo procedure the same for lipedema vs regular fat? Not sure what path I should pursue now, if there even ARE two paths. If this is too specific, I do have a consult at the clinic in a few weeks, but inquiring minds want to know! 😉

However, I have all the symptoms of Lipedema and have always had the bowing of the inner knees and larger arms (14.5 “) that have always appeared out of proportion compared to other areas of the body.

For anyone who can’t afford surgery or wants to do what they can to feel better while working toward it, I have had pretty incredible changes by doing simple things to try to loosen how firmly attached the nodules are to each other and to the muscles underneath, by putting my hands on either side of one of my thighs/calves, and pressing in as much as possible without feeling like you’re going to bruise too badly (I would say, without feeling like you’re going to bruise, but when I started, just touching my skin to try to feel the nodules was enough to bruise, so that may not be possible at first). The more I have been able to create movement in the nodule layer, the more I can feel my lymph fluid flowing into the area, which feels like… like my muscles were half-jerky, and the lymph fluid flowing into the area is hydrating/plumping them again, which is SUCH an incredible relief I can’t describe it. I think as the areas are getting more lymphatic flow(along with compression garments to then get that lymph back out again) a lot of the swelling has gone down as well, although the nodules themselves have stayed, but my pain is drastically reduced

After having 7 1/2 L removed during lower body, Lipo, I was extremely lightheaded for 10 days. At first, I thought it was the effects of spinal anesthesia, but after two days where it was still so severe that every time I stood up, I thought I was going to pass out even with a normal blood pressure, I decided to Take electrolyte powders and even put some Celtic salt directly under my tongue before drinking water. It was immensely helpful and each day saw an improvement until this lightheadedness resolved at about day 10. I like your point about the vitamin D because of the removal of fat. It’s not something I had thought about.

Fake tits don't even look good at the beginning. They always look awful, as actual real good tits REACT to gravity, not like the disgusting implants. Women don't need pathetic implants to satisfy simpletons. They need psychological treatment if they feel they do. That's it.

Yes, I usually try to separate the liposuction and skin removal surgeries into two procedures to allow the skin to retract and give the best looking scar, but they can also be done at the same time

this is a lie tho. i know multiple trans women who were diagnosed with lipedema, and have the mass amounts of fat in their lower half after starting hrt. this video saying cis female only get this, is literally excluding trans women from getting treatment or coverage for lipedema. i can’t stand when they exclude people acting like it only happens to cis women, i know for a fact this is false.

How to confirm if it's lipedema or not
@LaLaLaLa-DaDaDaDa2 ай бұрын
If you don’t remove it all by being aggressive, does it proliferate? For lack of a better term…. I was told it needs to all go or the remaining lipedema fat will “grow wild.” On the other side of the coin, I was also told (aesthetically speaking) that it’s not about how much fat is taken but how much is left. And that too much fat removed can make you look bad. I don’t care about loose skin because I already have a ton of it from weight loss that I already need removed, let alone after lipo when I’m deflated even more. So, that’s not really a concern since I’m already there with needing the skin removed
@LaLaLaLa-DaDaDaDa2 ай бұрын
Isn’t it more like a tattoo on our DNA? Because if you gain weight, your DNA remembers and you’ll grow it right back

What BMI would classify you as high volume? I guess that’s what’s confusing to me. I am 109/110 pounds and short. But I have stage 2 to stage 2.5. My thigh circumference is 20 inches and calf is 14 inches. BMI is 20.6 to 20.8 depending if I’m 109 or 110. I read online that BMI/weight has nothing to do with how much fat can be removed but I’d be freaked out to have 10 liters removed at 109 pounds 😢 Or even 8 liters. That’s hard in the body. I will make a consult with you, but I need to see when I can get off work because I’m in a state over from you
@LaLaLaLa-DaDaDaDa2 ай бұрын
I don’t take any prescription meds and I don’t have any health conditions. I’m in my late 30s. I don’t believe I’m stage 3 but absolutely not stage 1 so I’m 2-2.5. I have lipedema in my lower and upper leg and also have a lot of loose skin from a huge weight loss so I know after skin removal from my body I’m probably actually less than 109/110. But my legs are thick hence my above measurements so I didn’t know what would classify me as high vs normal volume

I’m calling Tuesday or Wednesday after I find out my schedule to make an appt with you. I have stage 2-2.5 lipedema and have it in my legs from my ankles to my hips but I don’t have saddle bags. I am 109 to 110 pounds. I’m afraid to have more than 4-5 liters removed because I don’t want to go into shock. If I’m 109 to 110 pounds, do you think I’d have more than 5 liters that are even able to be removed from me? And if so, should I do more than 1 surgery? Thank you for taking the time to read this!

Thank you for this video, I am wondering if you try to go “along the grain” to minimize lymph vessel damage? I’ve heard other surgeons say that by going up and down and not side to side it is going with the grain of the lymphatics and helps minimize damage. Would you agree with this or maybe more bogus?

Bogus in my opinion, but you should discuss with your surgeon

Very kind of you to say so. I'm glad you're liking the videos. Any certain types of videos you're finding the most helpful?
@screenname22062 ай бұрын
@ all of them are very informative. I think more surrounding bandaging afterwards would be so helpful. I’m 5 days out and the hardest part has been the compression and several ace wraps under my compression. It would be nice to know how other providers view ace wraps, compression and how long to wear everything. Menopause and compression causes a little more mental strain due to hot flashes. Talk about getting insurance approval. I have Premera and they have covered everything but my skin tightening. I had to pay upfront but the surgeon will reimburse me once they receive payment. If it would be helpful I can send you the letter and all my documentation I submitted to insurance so maybe it will help your patients get approved for the surgery.
@the_elston_clinic2 ай бұрын
Regarding compression we typically have patients put the compression directly on their skin and then the bandages over top. This way when the bandages get gross you can just remove them without having to take the compression on and off. Compression gets changed every day with the shower and we usually provide our patients two pairs of compression garments. Regarding insurance, we have better luck with some insurance groups than others. We typically try to compile everything for the patient and do all the submission in our office for the patient's ease.
