(No hang gliding experience at all here). What is the purpose/purposes of the rope on the right side. Is it to show air/wind direction? He seems to grab it during the flight and seems to keep checking to see that it is straight back.

VG cord (variable geometry) - it makes the tail edge flatter so more effecient during glide with the con being stall speed is higher speed , occurs faster, and its harder to turn

Been there Done that. He really worked for that one. I have been flying over that ridge the morning after an ice storm with a bright blue sky and mist coming out of Lookout valley. Covenant College was covered with ice like a fairy castle on a cloud.

What differs your tutorship with others is the way youteach in a very slowstep by step speed and very clear in showing the keys.That make anyone easy to follow. Thank you somuch, hoping to see other beatles songs.

You ruined your video with the stupid music. Why must y'all play noisy music? Is that KZbin mandated? That's why you have very few comments and reactions.
@AdventureswithLucas4 жыл бұрын
Go learn to hang glide, fly enough and with expertise to qualify for the advanced hang 4 rating required to fly Yosemite, travel to Yosemite with your hang glider, fly from glacier point, film it, edit it with whatever music you want and post that to KZbin if you care so much about the choice of music on this video. I can tell you I won't care what music you use.
@Liger._King4 жыл бұрын
Adventures with Lucas, don't get me wrong; your hang gliding is perfect. You've got a mastery of the machine, and I love the scenery. I understand why you're upset - the way I worded my comment. But I didn't mean to do that to you. All I'm saying is that if you can't do without the music, mix it up with the natural background sounds from your actual flight; people love to hear that. I'm talking based on comments that I've come across on so many hang glider videos.

Nice job! Myself and 2 of my friends attempted that trip in the mid seventies. I was on an Oly 160. We got to cloud base and felt it would be an easy glide to the point. After we left the launch area we hit nothing but sink and barely made it over the power wires at :17 minutes in your video. Thanks for bringing me back about 45 years. Great memories!
@AdventureswithLucas4 жыл бұрын
Glad to hear you didn't hit those wires and you've got good memories to share :)

Made that trip many times back in the '70s&'80s! Commuting from the Gulf coast of Louisiana when I worked 7&7 as a helicopter mechanic on the Gulf Coast! Used up a coupla Celicas making the weekly drive!

Does anyone check for comments on this video. The road up from Highway 7 is impossible to drive in a car now because somebody dug big ditches all the way up. Do you know if it is going to be graded level again so people in cars can access your launch area instead of only those with high clearance trucks.
@AdventureswithLucas5 жыл бұрын
Yes Sure it’s not my launch area. I flew here a handful of times. I don’t know the status of the road. I don’t live in Canada anymore. This videos from 8 years ago.

I tried to do Henson’s gap to LMFP and landed out in 1988. I landed in a field with cattle and they ran towards me recognizing me as a human I guess. I shook my wings and they hesitated. But slowly walked up and licked my wings. Permanently staining them. I was flying a magic 3. I got a hitch to a highway and then some guys that were headed to Lookout Mtn. Where I worked. The high point of the flight was being in a thermal an had 6 sailplanes join me. But they were going the other way to buzz Henson’s Gap. Wish I had a camera! Good times!

My husband flew off here many years ago...what I am searching for now is someone who would be willing to fly tandem with him. My husband's macular degendratin in both eyes has stripped him of many things.. The ability to drive. Hang glide and so many others. My husband was a pilot with the classification of a Hang IV rating. I am planning on making a trip down to Yosemite next year and was looking for a good, solid thinking pilot that might consider taking my husband jp for a flight.
@AdventureswithLucas6 жыл бұрын
Hi Rebecca, I'm really sorry to hear about your husband's health. Unfortunately, I don't believe the park allows any tandems to fly in Yosemite as it's a heavily regulated site.
@rebeccarandleman21246 жыл бұрын
Lucas, thank you so much for the reply....that os what I thought but decided to put it out there for a response. While my husband is still alive, It is not the retirement that I had hoped for. We will continue to make the best of it though.

Why does it have to be in D You people kill me. You play in the key you sing in, unless you have the range of Lennon & McCartney. Thanks Lucas. I was looking for this chord progression in C. You helped. Now get back to that hang glider.
