But Amwreckian propaganda told us it was hell on earth, and evil, and lusted to rule the world, and had to be stopped or we'd all be enslaved. By lies the military-industrial-complex thrives, and thrives, and thrives. Inventing enemies.

Thank for your comment. The film records a time and place which I experienced, that lives on in my memory many decades later. It anchors me in the possibilities inherent in socialism, in the abolition of the rule of private property for the future of humanity. I wrote a book about this promise "Private Property and the Goddess." Available from Estuary Press.

Ive always seen how western media tries its best to brainwash people abt communist nations. I live in india and even here this level of mindfuckness is being perpetrated by the ruiling Hindu nazi party to sideline the marxist and Left wing parties of our country, I'm a member of the communist party of India and am extremely proud for that. Thanks for this fantastic video.

I have a luxury to discuss life in USSR in details without bias as most of my childhood and young years I lived in USSR and when USSR broke up I was 24. There were a lot of positive as well as negative sides of this political system. Positives: much more even distribution of public wealth than with capitalistic system, equal and free access to all social benefits and free education ( medical care, kindergartens, schools and universities), low crime rate, zero unemployment (you don’t work only if you are not willing to, but this could be a subject to criminal article if you deliberately choose homeless and jobless life style). Negatives: depressed private initiative, private business is allowed in very limited spheres, economical growth does not correlate with the actual consumer demand, economy balance shifted towards heavy industries versus consumer goods, therefore consumer good demand is not fully covered and quality of good was not always good. Politically - there was no freedom of speech, everyone should be either a member of Communist party or just neutral, no political opposition allowed. So basically no one allowed to challenge the existing political system, but could criticise political movements or leaders within Communist party or actions of particular leaders of the regions or local authorities. I personally wouldn’t like socialist system to come back, but would like to keep all the positives of it.

this is what you call nowadays as advertisement for a country for propaganda purposes. Sadly even now many imbeciles in russia know nothing about way how this system was kept by blood. Reading here in comments from people who are sad about loosing ussr is very offending, they just dont care about several countries who were kept in this system by force. Twice as sad that it is during times when we see how russia tries hard to get one independent country back by not caring about lives. Otherwise- thanks for uploading, these all are very valuable materials from past.

This was clearly meant as a Soviet propaganda film. I knew many people who lived in Moscow in 1961. None of them described it like this video does. To put it mildly.
