to make good presentations, you have to learn how to present to your audience. its not about the designs that people care about when they're really eager to learn something from your presentation, its the slides that give proper information and the combination of oral presentation to have them feel more thoroughly engaged in your topic. add simple key elements in your presentation, dont add too much animations, designs, or anything that you think would be 'perfect' for the presentation because all you have to simply do is to try to focus on the main topic and target that so you could properly present your thinking and the information that you can show to your audience. here's some general rules to follow to simplify the advice: 1.do not add any designs that would distract/intimidate the audience from the main topic being presented 2.study your presentation so you can properly understand it, do lots of research 3.focus on the research and present your own interpretation of facts and information 4.know how to add slides that would teach you and your audience 5.always remember that a presentation is not just homework you do in class or the one assignment you have to focus on most, its a project dedicated to work on your thinking skills and successfully engaging the audience in your topic (if you have inadequate thinking skills, try by researching and reading actual information from books or research papers) 6.practice making presentations and do mock presentations with your friends so you can feel more confident 7.do not procrastinate, or do not engage in any bad habits that would distract you from working on your presentation. in other words, spend more time thinking and gathering research.
