I do have this problem, but even with pushing the base mount, i am still unsuccessfully with locking my 08 FLHTCU

This happened to me after I switched the bars and then had to use an aftermarket ignition trim piece because I broke the original . I ended up finding an oem trim piece on eBay and I am going to see if that makes a difference.

Did you experience this issue after possibly replacing handlebars? For me, after installing fatter diameter F47 12" bars, fork lock became harder because I feel the bezel cover of the fork clamp is higher now.

Just grind the heads of the screws down a tad so that when you tighten it down it doesn't poke into that function I had to do the same thing and it works no problem you can also find thinner m-lok nuts that aren't as thick

You can use padlocks with longer shackles and still have security. Pop the lock in the case and measure how much freedom of movement is available on the shackle. Then buy a sleeve/bushing to match that measured length of play. The inner diameter of the bushing should match the diameter of the shackle. When you lock the case add the bushing on the shackle to soak up the free space.

Friend, It could not set the mechanism back if that aluminum block didn’t move after shell fired. There is a piston in the end of the forend, It releases high pressure gas and the gas pushes that aluminum block to set mechanism and get fed.

3/4” locks were the winner for me. I realize this is an old video, so Pelican may have changed something about the manufacturing process. Either that or the QC in the mexico factory isn’t quite up to snuff. But as it stands right now for this particular model, the 3/4” keyed master locks are the way to go.
