Nice but not for me, I would have been more impressed if it hadn’t been from the Replica brand which I’m such a fan of. Are there any Replica fragrances you really liked?

Coffee Break was the first one i bought personally, at the time i quite liked it but there's barely a dent in my bottle since my nose quickly developed after buying it a few years back. Most of them do smell very artificial and I've personally taken more of a liking to more natural smelling fragrances. That being said Under the lemon tree is nice. Ive also seen their discontinued catalogue which looks incredible and pretty adventurous. My ideology of fragrance is often building your own story association to it, create your own memories ect. subjectively, By The Fireplace and Jazz Club may be deemed nice however it takes a lot of the personal relevance out when the brand have crafted such a thorough image/story/theme. All fragrances obviously have some story, but they really push it a step too far which is a part of their branding i guess but it's simply why I prefer brands like Le Labo, Vilhelm, MFK, Xerjoff, Penhaligons and even Creed! :)

I feel Margiela's approach has been more reliant on marketing opposed to luxury or quality which is quite evident from their fashion line. Nevertheless, the market is huge for the brand and they have pushed the envelope with some recent releases which I respect but my nose really can't handle some of them 😣

About a month ago I was on light rail and someone on board was wearing this. The train was filled with the scent but not too overwhelming. I’ve got MFK OudX, and samples of this. It’s very nice in the coldest of winter.

100%, on clothing there tends to be more consistency, but on the skin, it can really tarnish a scent profile. I'm naturally a very warm bodied person, I blast the aircon on the coldest days (which my coworkers are not a fan of) so I'm lucky to always have better than average projection on some fragrances but that can also manipulate some fragrances negatively for me , more so natural florals which go sour/musky on me. OudX is definitely a lot easier on my nose than the EDP :)

Interesting how you react differently to the smell based on the scent. Can you think of any more fragrances that inspire a similar reaction?
@FragranceFiend
@FragranceFiend 10 күн бұрын
My reactions to some of the bestselling designer fragrances isn't the best hahah. But usually sweeter fragrances can be a love-hate for me, I appreciate the technical feat of creating a fragrance composed of synthetics, but it can easily go so wrong so fast or become cloying /sickly hence why I usually stick to fresher fragrances. Every now and then i find some gems which really change the game such as Faces of Francis which ill be purchasing soon! but all of that is just my personal opinion :)

So true. I really do like this scent but it doesn’t last or carry too far from my body. I don’t think anyone can smell this on me, cos even I struggle! I get a hint every now and then but for the price of the full bottle I want to smell it all day!! It’s definitely lacking intensity and longevity. I have Slow Dance and that definitely last a bit longer. I wonder if I could layer it with that to bring it back to life??!! Great review! ✌🏽

Fierce, the absolute sexual seduction of generations and generations to come. Even through what you get the last decade isn't the powerhouse it once was for a decade - it remains 'smells like sex' for many women. If you want the true vintage one DUA offers the re-release of the original first release 2000 vintage Fierce in Extrait de Parfum concentration. Percival is a wonderful niche variant of Fierce, though it doesn't have same the oceanic fir musky freshness in the opening and early dry down but is somewhat different I assume because of the sweet mandarin and cinnamon in Percival but it is very much inspired by Fierce. You can also layer Fierce with Molecule 01 (Iso E Super) or with any other fragrance you enjoy.

@@FragranceFiend Ohh I gotcha bro😌 its called #Fierce, they also have #FierceAttar which is even an intensified remake of their already intense vintage Fierce. They actually have bunch of collap Fierces mixed with different fragrances as well. Yeah, they are bunch of molecular fragrances but I think Escentric has best quality and relaibility. Sometimes I layer Fierce with Sauvage, Y EdP, Y EdT and Legend EdP as well.

Y EDP was my gym scent for a while after I started running low on my original Fierce 👌🏻 I was going to pick up Molecule 01 but recently been using and loving Anothet 13 by Le labo, it’s become one of my most complimented scents standalone let alone its benefits for layering! I’ve looked into DUA but like most things, they’re not that easy getting into Australia.

Thank you’s so much for watching 😊 Ooo sounds like a good video idea actually. But first to spring to mind would be Black Phantim by Kilian, dark, alluring, intoxicating, only drawback is it suffers from longevity. Monsieur by Frederic Malle is the equivalent of running into a brick wall in terms of intensity, it hits the nostrils without hesitance with a dark rum accord, balanced with earthy patchouli and smoky incense. Also Avignon, a peppery incense scent that smells like an 18th century church. Lastly I’d probably go for royal tobacco by amouage, it smells of intimidation, it’s a scent that’ll transfer onto on one you touch! Thanks for the fun question 🧛🏻🤝🏻

Both of you should try Les Liquides Imaginaire Bloody Wood. Red juice, beautiful bottle. Scent is dark red berries, wine accord, rose oxide and oak barrels. The scent opens with a sharp metallic scent of fresh blood. A flash of dark smoke. Fangs lunging from the darkness, piercing flesh. Then it transforms and you get dark rich red wine mixed with juicy berries splattered across a wooden table. The colour is red, red everywhere slowly draining into the wood. Absolutely soaked. The scent trails away, leaving you surrounded alone in a aged wooden casket wondering what becomes of you now? It's the most vampiric scent I've ever had the pleasure of smelling.

@@FragranceFiend Would LOVE that, I can see a brand coming together. If you had an Instagram, it could show preview trailers with the opening similar to the TV static in The Ring . Or when you showcase a perfume unboxing, the title image is you holding a perfume box like how Pinhead holds the Lament Configuration. Yes, I love critiques, too many subjective perfume reviews are either "I love this perfume more than my own human child" or "I hate this perfume more than Satan". Logical balanced reviews while still allowing room for nuanced subjectivity is wonderful especially when reviewing perfumery as an intentional design product.
