The real wonder is that he came from Philippines where the local language and accents make it very hard for Filipinos to correctly pronounce Arabic letters and words but in spite of that he was a master at that and rendered better pronunciation than even Qaris from Middle eastern countries to whom Arabic pronunciation comes naturally. He was truly one of the very best!

May Allah bless him soul and place him in the high heaven. This clip is from the year 2000 and the international Quran competitions in Iran. The minute he started his recitation, all the judges in the panel said he is no amateur but a professional Qari. He secured the first place in the very first few minutes. Was way better than all other Qaris in all respects.
