In my experience, the easiest is to crouch back down and get control of the brakes again (see it happening at 00:00:27). Then you can brake normally. It is important to do it before the bike loses too much speed, otherwise it becomes much harder to stand on top

Also curious: did you use the same trick to stand up, or how did you position your feet? :)
