Is that wind drag after the PLF? I used to jump MC1-1B with XVIII Abn Corps & 2/75. In jump school we used T-10s mostly. (Yeah I'm an old fart). In 2/75 we jumped from Hueys, Chinooks, C-130s & C-141s. Jumping is one of the few things I miss about the Army. Thanks for your service!

I've only did 2 tailgate jumps from a Chinook! Honestly, I like sidedoor exits better 👍😎👍 '69, 11B4P, 173rd Airborne and SF Reserve

Nice hangtime ... 3000 Ft? Where the heck was the camera mounted. When he was S rolling the chute, we were being taken for a ride.

Nah the reason the camera was like that was cause when he landed his camera came loose and you have to get the parachute in the bag really quick and get off the dz (drop zone) to avoid a fellow jumper from landing on top of you

WOW...and using a dash 1 bravo chute...Love it!!! Tailgate jumps were my favorite. Did tailgate jumps from chinook, C-123, and C-140...been so long I'm not even sure if I got those numbers right!!! AIRBORNE!!!

We jumped UH1s at Leapfest in 89! Your JM did a great job of putting you guys on target.

GOD, THAT BRINGS BACK SOME KILLER MEMORIES!!!! I had Chinook blast and it was my first and last tailgate jump. I never even got a C-130 tailgate. I had over 50 jumps and that was my only tailgate and my only CH-47. It was onto Holland DZ on Fort Bragg. I didn't think it would be so different but the 'freefall' was longer and it was a lot more peaceful because there was a lot less noise and wind. Oh and we jumped 'hollywood'(jumping without equipment....weapon or rucksack) too which as anyone who has spent any amount of time in an Airborne unit knows, when you get a chance to jump hollywood, you take it. I LOVED it!!!! I would have done a lot more of those but no such luck.
