3:46 so I see that is in the shade. How has this worked out over the past year? I'm just curious, because there is a bit of shade in the spot where I'm thinking of putting the greenhouse right now (End of September), but of course, the leaves will be gone in a couple months or less. The shade will move in a couple hours, but still - I just thought I'd ask.

I live in the upper midwest, zone 4, where it regularly gets negative10F and colder during the winter, we get heavy snow, and winter is almost half the year. I put my Costco Yardistry greenhouse together last fall and was in it in early March starting some seeds like cabbage, kale, onions, swiss chard- whatever has worked for winter sowing in the past. I also started some seeds inside and in the usual winter sowing containers out in the snow. Of all three ways to start seeds, the greenhouse worked the best. So next year, I probably won't be starting anything inside, and I'm definitely ditching the winter sowing containers. By mid-April I was able to start the warmer weather plants like tomatoes, peppers, and even louffa! Squash, corn, beans, basil, dill, sunflowers, petunias, marigolds, melons all started successfully in the greenhouse without any extra heating. When it started to get over 75F I did notice that even with the roof vent open, it was still getting too hot in the greenhouse (mine is in full sun), so I took the triangular panels out of the gable ends and replaced them with screen cut to the same shape (I did have to take the roof apart a bit to get the panels out and slide the screen into their place, but it was pretty simple to get it apart and put it back together). This works really well to vent the excess hot air and it still stays plenty warm enough. It cools it sufficiently without even opening the roof vent now, even in the 90s. When it gets colder, I made four paneled triangles I can just slide into place like little storm windows (I won't have to take the roof apart again since they just slide in from the inside). I still want to put a solar fan inside to help even more with circulation, and a small heater to help things get started even earlier. I love this greenhouse. I don't regret the purchase or giving up garden space for it. I would definitely recommend getting one if you garden a lot. I have a 40ftx40ft veggie garden and had plenty of space to start everything I needed. Your videos were really helpful in the build. Thank you!

Great Video. I’m ready to start my wife’s this morning. I own a paver / hardscapes business so I am laying a Unilock Richcliff paver floor first then building off of that 🫡 Great job and video thanks for sharing

Took us 2 days as well. Some parts did not fit square, ran out of window tape with 4 windows left to install, door was damaged during shipping. Yardistry sent more tape and door quickly. I ran an underground conduit into the front corner under the shelf for electric, and will install a spigot for water feed. Caulk as you go or it will be more difficult to do later. We built on a 4x4 treated lumber base on a packed gravel bed, drilled holes in the shed bottom sill, and attached with wood srews/washers. I will anchor the 4x4 frame with hooks and drive brackets through the gravel pad. Bought an LED light strip to mount on beam. Bought online and the 2 weeks later local Costco had it on sale :( We love the shed!

Thank you for documenting this! This was very helpful as I recently started assembling our Yardistry Greenhouse. One question I have that I didn't see in your video: Did you secure/attach the greenhouse baseboards to your 4x6 base; and if so, how? Thank you.
@brandieerin60337 ай бұрын
Is your greenhouse in shade most of the day? We just bought one last week and noticed the spot I wanted to put it, gets a lot of shade, so we started building the base in an all sun location for the seedlings to take advantage of. I know some people just turn their greenhouse into a craft shed lol

Did you ever secure the greenhouse to the base? I know you used rebar to secure the base into the ground but then it looks like the grenhouse just sits on top?

Thank you for sharing. We just purchased a Yardistry Greenhouse (6.7 X 7.8). Would liked to have seen you prepare and install the Side Panels, i.e.; removing the film and adding the top and bottom tapes. Also, note to assembly: first confirm location of predrilled holes to assure correct placement of wood pieces. The (1119) Front base is case in point.

Did you consider finding a way to bring water into the greenhouse? There isn’t really a way to bring in a garden hose, so I wondered how you handled watering your plants.

Do you have to build a wooden base? Or can you just to patio stones?
@DanielDavis19739 ай бұрын
Out of curiosity, why did you opt for spray painting them rather than buying two different colors of pavers? I only ask because your color contrast seems like it could've been replicated with pavers fairly well using 6:29 light gray and 6:40 dark tan pavers as opposed to a color that pavers don't come in. I'm planning to buy the same greenhouse in the next few months and I'm watching your videos as inspiration.

I missed how you attached the greenhouse to the 4x6 base. Did you drill and screw the frame into base? Love the pavers. I had planned to use 2x2’ pavers, but those things weigh a tonne. Your 1x1’ pavers are perfect. Excellent plan to have pea gravel drainage!!

If you measured 6'8 /7'10 the frame is to big for greenhouse
@s.redden70574 ай бұрын
I get what is meant. The frame is build to have the garden house centered on it. Since the base is 6 inches wide, you will have an inch on the inside and outside left. It's not necessary, but it's done for extra support.
