I got a 93 proof bottle of chatanooga whiskey and bought so much whiskey available in tn for cheap that i cant get overseas at all even for top dollar. I had a sample of it before i bought it my god absolutely phenomenal

What whiskey was 162 proof? I have a small batch coy hill that’s 152 proof. And I thought that was high… what you got there?… looks like “OB something??? Not sure

I’ll have to check. It’s a Canadian whiskey made produced by this company called Baxus. It was distilled by Cathead distillery??? I’ll have to double check my bottle. It was a gift and a small run the company made. It’s super tasty for how high proof it is.

I’ve met the lady that was in the white dress a few months back at a bar I work in in Georgia, she’s part of the beam family, and she was incredibly nice, and she’d never usually speak about being a big wig in bourbon, her husband was more or less the one who was asking about allocated stuff, and when I mentioned my personal favorite she went “oh I know the people who own that distillery, they’re good people”

Big Peat is a very nice blended islay malt. A lot of peat ❤

I prefer the Rock Island/Rock Oyster over the Big Peat from Douglas Laing. It is also peaty, but a little less and more layers.

If we would have a local store here who has just a quarter of the bourbon selection as those stores, I would be happy. We have at least 10 if not 20 racks scotch VS 1 american in most stores.

I almost bought a Redwood while in the usa earlier this year. But didn’t because i was afraid it would not fit in the luggage. In hindsight, I should have bought it. And I got samples of pursuit while there. Great stuff. (Sorry commenting while watching)

We did a mini vacation before the kids started back to school there. My favorite stores with the best prices were my liquor beer and tobacco, Harry's, and riverside. All 3 were across the river.

I stopped into Riverside a couple weeks ago. Nice selection and a lot of store picks. Couldn't stay long as we were coming home. Definitely a place to revisit when I'm in that area again.

So some of it was weird but in general it was really good. I have a whiskey war cask strength double oaked finished in a Cabernet Sauvignon barrel and it paired really well with sardines and the smoked oysters. Who knew 🤷🏻♂️

It is my favorite bar in Bardstown! I love that you drink there too. No visit to Bardstown will be complete for me without a stop there. I can't wait to try that old fashioned in October. If you ever come to Illinois on your travels you need to drink at Barrel Society in Princeton, IL. I drive 2 hours just to drink there.
