If we are talking flagship whiskies I would agree Jim beam is better. Might even agree crown is better

I kind of dig the barrel picks with fun descriptive names like “Marshmallow Toast”. I know it may take away from a sipper forming their own initial opinion BUT, I get hooked when I see something like “Marshmallow Toast” Penelope, “Fruit Snack” Four Roses, and the like.

What is the quintessential Tennessee high Malt. didn’t they invent the Tennessee high Malt? He keeps talking about this like something that other Tennessee whiskey are in are doing is anybody else doing the same things they’re doing. “ you keep using that word, but I don’t think it means what do you think it means” Inconceivable
@whiskeylandtv6 күн бұрын
I’m not sure if anyone is doing anything similar. Im sure people are experimenting with malt but they have a huge focus on it. Mostly because of Grants background in beer.

Thank you for sharing with all of us. I truly appreciate content like this. Its quintessential to the human experience that ii believe we all yearn for. An honest connection. As a connoisseur of many things, whiskey being one of them, I will give this brand a go on my pallet as ii have looked over them several times simply because of the plethora of Indiana distilled options. Thanks for pushing me out of my reluctancy and ignorance.

For RR10, I'm with your dad, its not in my wheelhouse other than that LL/ME; W107 is harder for me to find that Full Proof, but I typically get a little bitterness on the back end; The OGD is a good bourbon to move from if you started with Dickel, and it makes good cocktails with it being high rye; ER is my favorite 90 proof ever; Michters is where I should have started because If I did, I wouldn't have bought so many other things that tasted like Buffalo Trace products; 4Roses are very good from the Small Batch Select/Single Barrel; killer lineup!
@whiskeylandtv9 күн бұрын
I almost never see a 107 these days. There’s som apple note I get across the Weller lineup. Ryan and the rest of the group are big Michters fans but there’s something it it that I don’t like (sometimes!). That’s mainly just the flagship Michters. 4 roses are great, I agree. Thanks Travis!

My very 1st bottle I grabbed on this journey of whiskey curiosity was regular makers mark. I've tried to grab a different bottle every time I hit the liquor store and now it's a problem! 😂
@whiskeylandtv9 күн бұрын
Got bit by the bourbon bug and didn’t look back! We originally started drinking bourbon in covid and got different bottles every week to sip with our dad and talk about them. Then we filmed these videos revisiting the first bottles we had. Now looking back at them and seeing us try these whiskies for the first time, I remember how excited those first 10 bottles were. Nothing like discovering bourbon for the first time. Such a high! One of my favorite early bottles was smooth ambler contradiction
