Use an impact wrench to pull out the fan. Vibrations and shocks loosen the fan very well. I use a cordless screwdriver.

How do you install the fan back in place ? Is it easier to put back than take it out?

I have so many questions about phosgene that google is a little under-specific on. You can get enough to cough and choke and you'll still be okay? If im torch cutting a drained r 22 line, will i know i am breathing any phosgene? Will i feel it or smell it?

Oh you'll know😂 that stuff is hard to miss. I've had a few hits here and there and it is not fun... sucks the life out of you. But you'll be fine. I hold my breath but sometimes you just gotta breath... that's when it gets ya! You'll more than likely be fine unless your out there LOOKING to breath it in.

Pressure test for certain first. Then you can weld all you want, it's even helpful to employ a fan to disperse the residual refrigerant (because you can't reclaim all of it)

Do you guys not pressure test before adding Freon/refrigerant ?
@nateandsons10682 жыл бұрын
If we suspect a leak we will pressure test before we add refrigerant. In this case there wasn't a leak before we replaced the compressor. So we didn't suspect there would be a leak after the compressor was replaced, but we ended up creating one when we moved the condenser out and back in.

its common practice in the states too you just get people who dont follow guide lines pressure testing also makes sure your joints are solid at operating pressure this is just mal practice i was wondering if he pulled a vacuum on it probably not a micron gauge would have saved him a head ache even if he didnt pressure test @@chiefwiggie3686

What Refrigerant was in the system? Does R410a create phosgene if burned?
@nateandsons10682 жыл бұрын
this system has 404a in it. I am not sure which component when burned makes phosgene. I originally thought it was chlorine but I am not sure.
@sicarface2 жыл бұрын
@@nateandsons1068 normaly phosgene is a connection between co2 and chlorine but it can also be produce by burning chlorine containg plastics like pvc (polyvinyl chloride)

Any refrigerant containing a chlorine atom runs the risk of creating phosgene gas such as R-22
@Jpiccinino2 жыл бұрын
@@nateandsons1068 phosgene forms when chlorinated hydrocarbon compounds are exposed to high temperatures. R-404a is an HFC. Burning HFC refrigerants cannot produce phosgene because HFCs contain no chlorine, however they do contain fluorine and so produce hydrogen fluoride (hydrofluoric acid) which can be as bad or worse than phosgene.

@nateandsons10682 жыл бұрын
Once we went outside my eyes stopped burning, my lungs hurt for a few hours after the job was done and I was nauseous for a few hours as well. After that everything seems fine. But I'm sure it all depends on the level of exposure.
