Great stuff. Altho every time I have attempted to lower my rt arm in this fashion i hit it fat. Probably side leaning
@MyGolfDNAСағат бұрын
You need to make sure you get fully shifted to the left when working this drill and make sure the arms are not firing out of sequence. That should eliminate the fat shots pretty quickly.

How can something that’s looks so easy be so difficult 🤔
@MyGolfDNA2 күн бұрын
Nothing in golf is easy unfortunately. Gotta take the time and put the reps in and not worry about the results of the ball at first and good things will come.

During this step one, does the left ass cheek need to sit back as well? I really struggle keeping my lead hip back before my right hip comes forward again.
@MyGolfDNA2 күн бұрын
Yes, Left ass sits back right hip starts to come forward slightly.

Yep, just widen up the base a bit and this should work nicely.

Do I master step 1 before moving to step 2, or do then both on the same session?
@MyGolfDNA5 күн бұрын
Ideally, if you do 15 sets of step one, you should be ready to take on step 2. If you’re losing sight of the sequence in step 2 or having a hard time landing in the right spot, go back to step 1 and stay there for a bit.
@bmatt7727272725 күн бұрын
150 reps a day. Do you start with 150 reps of step 1, and then when u have that bette, move to 150 reps of step 2? Or do you do 150 reps per day of steps 1, 2, 3?
@MyGolfDNA5 күн бұрын
150 reps per day on step 1 up to about 1000 reps. Then add in step 2 and do 1 and 2 together for 150 reps and so on.

They have all mostly contained some useful formation but I have been following your channel for about a year and I feel you have helped me understand exactly what I am supposed to be doing. Hi Chris: I did a number of reps on Thursday and took it to the course here in Mexico. First pitching wedge I hit was flushed. Beautiful contact. Same with 7-iron. It didn't totally translate to the driver but I was happy with the results. So today, back at the course and it's like I forgot everything. No matter how I tried I couldn't repeat that sweet sound of contact and the shots were not going nearly as far. What gives? And how do I practice this indoors when I get back to the frozen tundra (Alberta)? Help!
@MyGolfDNA6 күн бұрын
If you get early success with a drill of this nature, it’s important to know that you don’t own the movement on day 1. You have to put in a lot of reps and a lot of very consistent reps at that. Next practice session you have, get focused on creating the most high quality movement you can for 100 reps or so. Then repeat the next day and try to introduce a golf ball back to the mix, but in small increments. If it still stays bad, report back and lll gladly help you further.

Here you have wrist going straight down the line. In another video you had hips going slightly left and throw going to the right. Is this different? Please explain. Thank you.

The one where the wrist was going out to right field was to induce a draw for those players that have a hard time feeling an in to out path.

One of my (many) issues I get the weight too far back in my right heel/ right handed in the backswing. About sometimes that my toes come off the ground my foot rotates back towards the target and I re plant…/ have you ever seen that? I did t till I recorded my swing… crazy
@MyGolfDNA16 күн бұрын
I have seen it and it's generally caused from a poor address position and a loading sequence that's being driven by the arms. Get the weight more under the ankles at address and then slight movement towards the heel with your right leg staying flexed as you turn and that should help keep you from getting pulled all over the place.

In one of you sequence videos with the impact bag you talk about snapping the club at the bottom of the swing. Is this an active movement of the wrists?
@MyGolfDNA17 күн бұрын
No, not at the wrists! Any active movement will make it harder to keep moving on a consistent rate of closure and delofted correctly.
@ymmijhaehc1318 күн бұрын
Hi Chris, Does maintaining the right wrist through impact also work for the driver? (Although, I'm aware that the setting-up for the driver is different)
@MyGolfDNA17 күн бұрын
It's the one club we don't need negative angle of attack and generally, we will producing more secondary spine tilt, which will make it harder to keep the wrist in place at speed. I would start out small and slow and just to feel it with the driver and then as you start getting proficient, start picking up the pace and reducing the tension in the movement and hit some shots to see what you're producing. Report back from there and I'll help you.

Keeping the wrist set. I feel like I have no power. What could be the reason for this. I feel like have to release my wrist to get the hammer like hit and get distance

I never want students to keep the wrist set and especially at speed. I talk incessantly on the channel about how important it is to let the club release.

It will! Just take your time and follow the protocol. If you start slow and use the visuals to turn into a good feel for yourself...you'll do great! Just keep the commitment level more to the body rather than the shot and report back. Interested to hear how it goes.

@MyGolfDNA20 күн бұрын
I did say an alignment stick not a steak skewer. However, for those of you out there that want extra protection from the dull end of an alignment stick, cut the stick in half and then cut a pool noodle the length from the ground to your hip. Then put the pool noodle over the stick. Or just stick a headcover over it. Honestly, your hands should never be anywhere close the to stick even if you forget to shift your weight or rotate your hips at all. If you do forget to do those 2 things, you’re not going to be producing an enough hand speed to be impaled by a the alignment stick. Glad you loved the drill otherwise.

Well done through the stages but, on the takeaway, LHS HIP SWAYS off the impact wall, which requires repositioning later at transition and downswing. Not recommended in RSS which I try to follow. You eat well, yes?
@MyGolfDNA20 күн бұрын
Horizontal movement of the pelvis is a real thing that I've covered a number of times on this channel. You can use more of a center pivot "stay on the impact wall" if you desire. If you want to swing the club with less lateral force, have at it. Thanks for liking your own comment as well as your left handed comment about my physique.
