Was a brown belt student of his back in 1991. Would never talk to you unless Japanese or a black belt? Ignorant prick. Boring basics every bloody lesson with zero change.

Much respect for Kawasoe sensei, but this footage must be much older as Mr Kawasoe by 2011 must have been at least 67 years old.

Sensei Kawasoe, I didn't understand why I have to pull back the hand quickly soon after hitting. Is it to avoid being held by the hand (to avoid being trapped), or is it something to do with the impact itself, to magnify the impact? Thank you very much indeed, and thank you for the million things I've learnt with you here on youtube! Thanks to you my karate improved 1000% and I'm trully thankful.

This is interesting to me. The way that Naka Sensei is executing that elbow strike - empi uchi - looks very much like the way some Okinawan karateka perform the move in their Naihanchi kata, and I know that Naka Sensei has been to Okinawa and experienced some of their karate.

Naka Sensei could easily be known as 'Mister Hips'. I am curious to see if he's still able to use his hips the same way after 65 years of age. I hope he stays healthy.

I like Naka Sensei and you have to give him credit for trying to make an application. However, I think there's been too much lost over time. Also I remain convinced that karate kata (bunkai, oyo, henka or what ever else) is not meant to be against another karateka.

Clearly Kawasoe Sensei was part of the JKA in this video. His kime points are very much like Nishiyama Sensei's (of course NTKF & ITKF), so I wonder if we will see the JKA adopt many of these wonderful points that have been researched by the ITKF.

Don't confuse flexibility with mastering karate. He may be a Master but not simply because he can do the splits or put his foot high above his head. Many dancers can do this but that doesn't make them good at karate. In fact they are most often quite poor at developing kime but wonderful at learning new moves (dancers have to quickly remember many dance routines) and they are often good at kicking high.

For real students of Karate he is a master, I myself started training in 1968 and trained with sensei's Nakayama, Kanazawa,Enoedo ,Osaka,Kato, Kase , Nishiyama and Shirai...all have specoalities but to appreciate Sensei Kawasoe you have to train with him! Yes, it is true that overstretching can weaken the contracting power of muscles...but here Sensei shows the art of flexibility in joints and the ability to relax the right muscles. Sensei has devoted his whole life to Karate and is the best ambassador I have seen, a true gentleman who deserves the outmost respect!

Nice choreography! Seems strange to call the organisation 'Traditional Karate' and then include Embu that is like ballet in a karate dogi. Sorry but that's my opinion.

Good grief! That Russian guy at 0.13 fooled me into thinking HE was Kawasoe. Same posture & same hair cut. And later in the video he even stands and gestures like Kawasoe. Well I suppose if you must copy someone then Kawasoe is a good choice.
