I don’t think you understand the "dual action" and its advantages.

How tall are you? Or does Anyone know how tall this splitter is to the working area?

That’s the proper way to turn around I’m assuming? Not by just holding one brake ?

4 years and over 100 face cord of hardwood. This is the best thing I have ever bought from Harbor Freight. 1 pull start. Can be so fast you can't keep up with the dual cutting head.

I have had one of these for two years. The seals on the cylinder are very recessed and designed in such a way which allows lots of debris to build up around the seal. The debris caused the cylinder to go bad. $735 for a rebuild on the cylinder. I love the way the thing works but the engineers that designed the system have obviously never split wood

Those grates do eventually sag down a little bit and the frame that the piston site in will bow out a little bit over time and wood gets jammed into this little spot when the piston is fully retracted other than that I love mine and even with only one stage of the hydraulic pump working it still splits pretty fast and it sure beats splitting stuff by hand

I have the County Line 25 ton from Tractor Supply. Paid $900. It has the vertical or horizontal options. One thing that I don’t like about the County Line is the same thing I see on the Harbor Freight, that being the bite of the end platform appears dull. On the County Line, some pieces slide up when the blade pushes against the wood. Usually when the piece is odd shaped or not a perfect vertical cut. I used a Ariens splitter that had great bite on the end plate which actually showed marks on the wood. Predator engines are very good. Run louder than Honda’s but they are pretty reliable.

I really wanted to get one of these. It went on sale for $679.00 and with shipping, handling and tax I was looking at around $825.00. This thing only comes with a 90 day warranty - but I was willing to take the chance - the way I saw it - I could always go to Harbor Freight and pickup a Predator Motor if the motor went bad. Unfortunately, the unit sale ended and they posted no sale end date. Then it went up in price from $799 to $999 and at one point it went up to $1349. It then went down to around $849. With the shipping, handling and tax I was now looking at $1100. For that price I could spend a little more money and get a better warranty. I was disappointed. I felt for $825.00 it would have been worth the risk. So after looking around, I saw other splitters with more power and does vertical splits and a much better warranty. I can even tow the other models legally. No charge for shipping and handling. It also came assembled and with all the fluids except gas. So now I am glad they went up in price.

@@hyakkimaru6709 The one I have my eyes set on is the Champion sold buy Home Depot. There is one that is priced at $1199 and another one that is priced at $1599. Both are rated #5 in splitter ratings. Home Depot sell them with them already put together and with fluids prefilled. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rmeTn2pjfcmlesk
