Kenny King. Still remember him going off in 1980 SB vs Eagles. Had a nice career for the Raiders.

You wouldn’t happen to be doing the stadium out in Hereford would? Seeing this one plus Dumas, was a flashback and a half.

It is on my list, but I didn't have the time to get to Hereford. I want it. I hope to get back out there soon.

Very nice stadium. They really did a good job on renovations a few yrs ago. Stays busy almost yr round. Thanks for posting this and all the others too.

Thank you!! Thank you!!! I have 3 more to edit and post from my short trip up there. Can you recommend a can't miss smaller stadium in the Amarillo area that I should get next time I get up there? The wind was picking up a bit when I got this one, so I rushed it.

@@TexasHighSchoolStadiums Bushland has a really nice stadium. Just west of Amarillo. I actually work for Canyon ISD at the Happy State Bank Stadium in the grounds maintenance and setup so I guess I'm a bit biased towards that one. Ha Ha! Hereford has done some upgrades to their stadium as well. Really Nice! Pampa and Borger also. I guess all are trying to keep up with the Jones? I know most people just think of these places as nothing special. After working at this one for 3 yrs I've come to appreciate them a bit and look around at them when going to games. This channel that we (my son and I) have is now, I guess mine, as he has outgrown it.

Thank you again. I am amazed at how well @kdsiren has done. Congratulations! Someone from Hereford reached out on the channel but I didn't make it out there.. I actually got Happy Bank, but I wish I had known you work there. If I knew I could get there soon I would try to get back out there and get some inside shots with your assistance. I usually look at the weather and take off when I can toward different areas. I am working on a voice over for Happy Bank because of its unique history. I am editing Borger right now, but I missed Pampa.

@@TexasHighSchoolStadiums Oh wow! Wish I could have met you there. I'm retired and work there part time. It does have history for sure. Was built 3 yrs before I was born. Lived in Hereford so we went to lots of games there.

Thank you! Thank you! Just because it is a small school or stadium doesn't mean they don't give it their all on Friday night, and I want to honor that effort. Keep working, my friend.

Every championship team needs a solid defense to win. In 1989, Groveton had that. That's why they went undefeated for the first time ever.

Was Rodney Thomas on that team? Did he play defense? I know he played in the league as a RB. Who were the stalwarts on that defense?

Scored several touchdowns, thousands of hurrys, and hundreds of sacs on this field, 4 years. What a long set of memories. Many of the same team and I went to state in track and field, and even played against Shaq (Cole High School) for the Texas UIL State Championship B-Ball.

A story about a football game in the 2000s, the Groveton Indians were playing a school whose colors were green and white and the other team's cheerleaders made a run through sign for the football players that read "Send Them Back on The Trail of Tears" and the cheerleaders, and cheer sponsors had no idea that it was heavily offensive. But the next morning the GISD superintendent emailed the school's superintendent and the superintendent had to apologize on the cheer leaders behalf.
