Just in the process off building my son's mk2 escort with a cosworth engine the engine is running about 380bhp on the dyno but we want it about 250/280 ish so going to have a quick spooling turbo fitted we want it to be quick in the country lanes rather than a top speed missile.

i knew guy who had a mk2 cortina with a 500 bhp cossie in it, and his was unreliable has hell. Are they better now

Loved watching those great escorts like yours rallying through Dalby forest North Yorkshire Moors UK late 70s. Now they want to slow down all the gas station fuel pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime...:_(((

I always liked the old Escort models and have a soft sport for cubic "retro" cars in general, however I am also a huge sucker for lap times. At the end of the day a modern sportscar is faster around a track, although that escort could beat the Lambo in proper rally/dirt track racing :o)
