Technically yes, if its ferrous (if a magnet will stick to it), a mag-lock will hold it. I test mag-locks with my hand tools (screwdriver, scissors) all the time. The key to holding strength is a good bond which requires the "armature" surface to be flat and uniform. Just be careful that if whatever is being held does drop it won't cause damage/injury if the power fails.

@@tristangehman9236 ok, thanks. I was thinking of fitting one on my toolbox in my van. To hold all my tools from rolling around in the draws.. I suppose I’d just have to buy one abs try it one day.
