Good job everyone completing this big voyage despite the rough conditions and bad luck. The sea gods need to get their act together. You paid them homage and they didn't do you right. Good thing you had a buddy boat, and the dolphins don't forget their friends. Indonesia has lots of beauty but dangers too, so keep on your game.

Hi guys. Great to see a vid come out. Hope you are all safe and enjoying the trip. To be honest I would DEFINITELY had a spare kite that you blew. It’s your bread and butter. And I would ALWAYS take it down overnight as when the conditioner change it when you hit squalls, you don’t want to be pulling down a pain in the arse kite flogging around in the middle of the night in the dark. Always reef before bed. Overnight slow and safe is good and rolling the dice is bad. Just my opinion but one which should keep you safe and sound while the sun is down. Have a safe trip team. Following seas always. Johno. Sydney. Australia 🇦🇺 mate !!! Ps. I have enjoyed the Chanel since a week after you launched it. Time flies. 👍 Edit. Congratulations. You are all doing a fantastic job. Thank you :) We generally don't sail at night with a full main or spinnaker, although this one is quite small and very easy to douse in high winds. Regretted not having a back up... Lesson learned! In Aus we use Predict wind, windy & Willy weather - in Indonesia we have so far found that there are NO accurate wind or weather predictions..... but we still check every trip just in case.

@@Trustgreg112 our boat is at the $500,000 mark with upgrades etc. this particular brand is a very solid, world renown quality sailing boat. You could pay 300-600K for a 43 foot boat.. depends on how much work it needs & what brand…

Hi guys, thanks for taking us to Thursday Island , my father was the original builder of the Thursday island hospital he over-seed the building of the hospital In about 1950, our 10 years before I was born, it probably is not there any more. Not being a knocker but why are you even in this area during Cyclone season. Can I ask what is you cyclone plan. Do you have a weather router to advise you on weather and best course given this time of year. Can you advise if you have insurance and if so what does your insurance company state in relation to cruising here in Cyclone season.

They were in Thursday Island and Cape York in July. This is the right time to be there. Videos are about 6 months behind real time.

Actually you will find a lot of people cruise north QLD even during cyclone season. It's quiet & cyclones don't come out of nowhere so it's easy to get away from them if you are paying attention. Most youtube channels are behind - its near impossible to home school, travel & edit whilst keeping up to date. I may have forgotten to put the episode number up. If you watch back we often talk about dates/time in the videos :)

So far just savings. KZbin is on average only $100 a month & private sponsor/patreon is about $80. Letting youtube take a bit of a backburner right now because it takes so much time away from our family & experiences.

Good stuff. A Mangrove forest is the best place to fish, because there's so much to discover in there. And it seems you unlocked the secret to catching the big ones, which is to bring Atticus along. (Edit: Of course I'm kidding, Dan. You did manage to bring back a good haul on that first trip.) Enjoy your last week of December.

It was a hell of a fishing day, boys. Good job. I watched your short, in which I think your youngest was surfing and did a backflip, but I'm unsure. But what struck me, in addition to that, was the Beach Boys' song. That took me back in time. I graduated from the same high school the Beach Boys went to a few years after they graduated. I had a great time in high school surfing the California coast. So, approximately how old am I (LOL)? Keep having fun and sharing Australia. You'll catch that Barramundi.

aaah, mid 60's? I saw some sort of version of the Beach Boys in AUS around 15 years ago. I can't remember which original was there. I'm certain it was Brian Wilson! Love the Beach Boys, Love California - hopefully I'll go back to visit one day.

@@fyd_adventure3049 Ah, mid-seventies. But thanks. Unfortunately, California is not what it used to be. There is massive debt, a homeless problem, and illegal aliens. But it was a fantastic place to grow up. There are still many places that are just as beautiful as ever, it the major cities that are a problem. I moved to the east coast several years ago. Thanks for the note.
