Great review. It just arrived. First problem ; I want to replace the 3-pin cable with a 5-pin cable ( for a stereo mic ) and cannot work out how to open the handle. Any ideas ?

Thanks John, I’ve seen another video for this boiler where they just changed the pcb board itself. Are there two different types of board, one with the grey unit you replaced and another with a circuit board…?

My Suprima 60L was a bit different. It fired up but went out after about 1 minute with the water pipe barely luke warm. It then fired up 5 or so minutes later and went out again. This would repeat over and over with the rads only just Luke warm. First thing replaced was the temperature sensor which made no difference. Then the PCB, problem solved.

Very useful video. It is one of those "Easy when you know how" situations. My boiler is working but since we have been hibernating it has been switching off two or three times a day. I can always restart it but its a pain. I am tempted to follow your lead but It is 30 years old so probably time for a replacement.

Why are you encouraging people to meddle with their boiler without the slightest hint of any diagnosis?!

Great video, but these instructions are incomplete. How do you apply silicone grease on the push-pin? Where does the tiny o-ring go on the pin?

I know the boiler documents don't mention the o ring or show it on any diagrams. Pretty poor show really. The instructional videos on youtube by others are much more helpful. Thats how I found out about it.

Fairly often a flashing red light means a board fault on these. But quite a few times its not. Don't just change the pcb because it's flashing red.
@Flickifi3 жыл бұрын
Had the same problem 11 years ago! Often it's not the components but dry joint issues with these. Resoldered all the joints...been going smoothly ever since. These boards are made in China using cold soldering which don't last for long.. Potterton knows about this but won't fix the issue for obvious reasons ! As it means collecting £250 a pop.

Good test and it’s very good value. I recently purchased the Rode blimp and it’s an updated version that addresses some of the issues you’ve mentioned, cable management and movement of the handle etc. It also has the Rycote lyre suspension that I prefer. Having said that t was twice the price but overall though the Boya looks really good 👍

Twice! After a leak Dec 2017, I replaced the Diaphragm and now it's gone again but with loss of hot water this time but no leak. What is it with the design? However, looking at the records the Boiler Main HE24 appears to be installed 2004 so the original lasted around eleven years? Can someone please explain?
@jcorchards3 жыл бұрын
Hi, I have the same problem on a baxi 105e, the original lasted approx 10 years or so, and now I have to probably replace the diagphram approx every 12 months, due to lack of hot water, I just put it down to the replacement parts of today being inferior quality..
