At fourteen, I was a complete phreak for The Who Sell Out, Live At Leeds, Meaty Beaty Big, and Bouncy, The Kids Are Alright, Quadrophenia, and every bootleg I could buy, barter for, or steal. I was born and raised here in Seattle; my parents were singer guitarists, so I was learning I Can't Explain, 5:15, The Punk And The Godfather, Armenia City In The Sky, Young Man Blues, Substitute, etc. I developed great love and respect for the sea after growing up and paying close attention to the Quadrophenia film. One of the best top three musical biographies you will ever read is written by a gentleman named Tony Fletcher, and the book is simply titled "Moon." RIP Keith and John.

You can't grasp the Who's dynamics the sheer force they are unless you saw them live,even now thinking about it makes the hair on my neck stand up,from the manc clubs ,first when saw them to a world wide stage,how they blossomed.,Sorry but had to be Daltrey,Entwistle,Moon,and Townshend, 💥✌️

The Specials were a big part of my youth. They were a massive part of British music culture. Fantastic turn out, well done to everybody involved in making it happen. Be very proud of yourself because Terry was a good man.

Everyone from that era were in their teens and twenties and are now mostly in their 70s,me included. These people are living their memories,they may have aged but they haven't grown old .Good luck to them.

The Who were commercially dressed as Mods for about a year by Kit Lambert. Daltrey and Entwistle were Rockers at heart, Moon was a Beach Boys fan and Townshend an art school student. Brilliant band but not Mods - Small Faces were. Looking briefly at the scooters here, the GS150 is authentic but the PXs etc are very much 79 revival transport. The scene now seems to be a lot of autos dressed up with ebay bling.
@andyanderson3567 Жыл бұрын
Absolutely correct ! ! The Who were manufactured mods. The Small Faces were the real deal 100 % !!!!!!!!!!!! But i take issue with you re the Ebay comment. There is plenty of Mod retail shops where you can purchase excellent Mod copies. Ebay is good for cd's !!
