I watched this before going to my first highland games lol. Not necessarily because I'm new, but because where im from is a lack therof. However, i didn't quite realize how many pipes would all be playing different tunes all at the same time😅. Quite an interesting sound... That's for sure! Anyways, 'love your content, keep playing man!

Ross' new band?
@CraigMuirhead-w2f2 ай бұрын
No, not a new band. PM Harvey has been very successfully leading the GWC Juvenile band for a few seasons now, including winning 4 majors this year and champion of champions. The standard from these kids is unbelievable and they’d give plenty of G2 bands a run for their money. Looking forward to what PM Harvey might achieve with them now that this band will have his undivided attention 😊

Excellent performance by these young men and women! Curious as to the name of the ( Jig?) being played in the opening intro of the video and who’s playing it. TYVM

I recorded the intro/outro tune as it was being played by Peoples Ford Boghall & Bathgate Caledonia (along with a few from FMM) at the entrance to the field just before march past on the day. Should probably have included a wee bit of footage from it at the march past section of the video. Boggies had the honour of leading the bands on as the winners from previous year. The tune is called The Fiddler's Rally.

@@williamspipesanddrums Thanks very much,. What a thrill it must have been for these young pipers and drummers to be part of that day. You all can be proud of your performance and your success. From Canada ….former Mcnish Distillery Pipe band member circa 1980

I miss playing with others due to bad lungs from smoking. I can't play the Highland pipes anymore but I do still play after buying the electronic faberstrom pipes. Well worth the $400 AU.

@@nimsonggurung2305 That tune is called Piper's Cave. It's the last of our 2-part march set that we competed with last season. There were 4 tunes in the set; Brown Haired Maiden, Haughs of Cromdale, Greenwood Side & Piper's Cave. The set was cut short in this video, but you can hear the whole set on some of my other videos e.g. kzbin.info/www/bejne/o33bqqilaqahfs0 We are preparing a new set for next season so watch this space...😉

Wow i have always wanted to see what a pipe band championship looks like and the reason is because I play the tenor and sometimes the base drum in a bagpipe and drum band that is named after the 3rd battalion of the royal regiment of Scotland aka the black watch and the band that I am in is not a competition band but the band used to be but not anymore.
