She is amazing! It was only recently I found videos of her doing Phantom; I had only seen her in "Love Never Dies."

I hate the london bootleggers so much. A*sholes filmed everyone except John Owen Jones with Katie Hall. Also the mercenary scumbag cameron mackintosh who sent JOJ & Katie in that stupid tour instead of keep them in the original.

The audience should applaude raoul and christine. In the 2000s on broadway the audience often clapped after the duet.

That moment the light go out, the organ starts, and every single hair on your body stands on end, goosebumps cover your whole body, the whole earth is shaking, every emotion humanly possible and then some overwhelms you as the massive chandelier begins to rise. Nothing, I repeat, nothing on this planet can recreate that feeling.

Nice to have a record of how the show used to be. They've destroyed the London production. So many cuts and only half an orchestra. Yet newcomers think it's fabulous, but boy have they been conned. Such a tragedy. But well done Broadway for ensuring phantom is as it should be.

Cameron Mackintosh ruined it, and now he bought out the Majestic in NYC too.

The reprise is so much better than the watered down version that replaced it in London. They removed the magic and haunting aspect of the Phantom. Thank you for posting this!

Did they put the original Chandelier back in for the re-opening after the virus? I remember seeing it in the street when they had to clear out the theatre after closure (picture on Social Media). If they have replaced it, it is good that the original is shown here on record.

The more I hear of her the more convinced I am that she would never have gotten this role if she wasn't gorgeous. :( It makes me really sad to think how many less-pretty sopranos there are who could have sung this WAY better. Don't get me wrong; I LOVE her voice - she has a beautiful lyric soprano voice and there's nothing wrong with that; she was a stunning Eliza Doolittle and her album is breathtakingly beautiful - but she just doesn't have that upper extension. I've never heard her sing a C without sounding strained. (And no, I'm not a Sierrastine fan! Not. at. all. hahahaha). In her defense though 6 times a week is way too much to sing this music and do this hard show! (I'm more a fan of how they did it half-and-half like with Robyn North and... I believe Leila Benn Harris?) Comparing it to Sierra at RAH when she only had to do it a few times in a row (and then they cut together the best bits for the final video) is like comparing apples to oranges.

I saw this back in '99 at the Majestic Theater when I was in college and it's a totally differently experience when you see this masterpiece live rather than on TV. As soon as the pipe organ kicks in, the floor vibrates, your chair shakes, and a plethora of emotions runs through your body. You feel joy, fear, suspense, awe, and so much more. You may even shed some tears, but that's ok. You're surrounded by musical magic & genius. It's sensory overload and it never gets old.

Right? Like when I saw it just this year my heart was pounding and the suspense in my chest was so strong. I was shaking for about half an hour after we left the theatre.

She is more dramatic in low notes from Sierra...but she hit the hight notes with power and easily....different performance more difficult.....but in the bridge I think seams to loose it a litle of beat in one note when she goes up...or her microphone was not ok and the sound looks strange like she make falls....
@Silver54ful3 жыл бұрын
She lost it during the most crucial part of the candenza. Can not be denied. This is especially difficult for me since I am such an enormous fan of Anna's. Even still, it would be a foolish errand to say otherwise when it is plain as day she went inarguably sharp. That being said. I really don't want this video where she did hit a sour note to be the definition for her as a singer. I feel the strong desire to keep encouraging people to watch her other videos and listen to other audios. For as a whole she really is a gifted vocalist.
@evacoulouri13223 жыл бұрын
@@Silver54ful she is a classic signer of opera she singing love never dies perfect but she is a human also so some days are ok some days not so much its difficult especially if you singing that every day for one or two times....I guees her throat must be always in a good condition for signing all those difficult parts and scenes....but she is a very good signer and a very beautiful woman...for the first time I leasing her I say yeah she is very impressive.....all the package...

This Raoul doesn’t want to leave the lair! 😂😂😂 Usually I’d see Raoul ready to pull and drag Christine out of there and she hesitates before they get yelled at, but this Raoul is either wanting so much to punch the Phantom in the face before leaving or just simply doesn’t want to leave! 🤣
