Anyone here after JJA2216 to see if they could've gone around with one engine and avoid the crash?
@boeing737pro328 күн бұрын
Dear, a single engine go-around performance at a sea level airport with no critical obstacles around is far from being a challenging situation. At this point, professional pilots are more curious about what else could have happened. A bird strike is not a reason to land with all landing gears retracted and all flaps up. Fair enough to hear from some pilots (including me), that in case of bird strike affecting one engine on final, most likely they will continue the approach (specifically if the aircraft is already in landing configuration). The decision to go-around is also fair, but the crew usually does not need to rush to land. In this case, it's better to hold and finish the associated NNC.

@@boeing737pro3First of , I am definitely not a professional, I can’t even legally drive a car yet. I think the aircraft in the incident has also received some sort of Hydraulic system leak/failure causing the rush for landing , that might also explain why Flaps and gear are not down. I know there are alternate ways to lower gear and flaps but I think panic took over the procedures and thoughts of the pilots which caused them to not go through the NNC and ultimately forget the gear and flaps, I certainly agree with your point that going around and performing NNC is the best way though.

So if both electrical buses are out while the plane is at cruising altitude, would the outflow valves open up if on Auto mode? Is that what caused the cabin altitude to increase at 2:39?
