I don’t know if anyone explained it but the box Misty was smashing at the end of the episode is the black box/flight data recorder that can be crucial for air crash investigators to understand the cause for a crash and can give off the location of the box for a limited time (one of the things that really hooked me on this show was the plane crash because I have watched many air crash investigation shows). Misty doomed them to staying out there because she was getting the respect she’d always craved and let that influence her actions.
