Thank you for the compliment. It has taken so many years to get this shop dialed in and I seriously wish it was bigger. It is a metal shed that is 22 feet wide by 24 feet deep. But the top plate is 9 feet with a 14 foot peak. That is what makes all the difference. Having the height makes a huge difference. Then over the years I have insulated it, added a mini split, then dust collection and lots of cabinets. I think the next big project would be to epoxy seal the floors.

Yes, I completely understand. But epoxy sure makes a great material for funky pieces of lumber with limited use. I have no idea how I could have used this Buckeye without it. A straight planer blade, as long as it is sharp, works perfectly fine. That is what I had in the planer at this time of this build. The key is to round over that exiting edge and make sure that you are taking off as little as possible (1/64th or less). The best measurement is by the planer speed. You should see no reduction in speed and not hear any reduction in speed. Go for it!!!
