Great review AJ, very open minded and unbiased views!! I have the 1.4L petrol and I consistently get 12-14 km/litre. I’m from Hamilton New Zealand… On the motorway/expressway I get 16-18 km/litre Love the space, grace and pace & it corners better than you expect, but doesn’t like potholes and manhole covers that are set too low in the road. Had it for nearly 5 years and still love looking at it and driving it Cheers Glyn

Great review and seems like a great value luxury car to rival the usual suspects. Can I ask how the ride is on our British on roads on this particular version (it's F Sport) Most reviews are non F sport and if I were to purchase an ES it would be this spec but with a darker colour. Is the ride comfortable? Would you say it rides better than its peers? How about compared to an S Class? Thank you

What a very pleasant and unexpected surprise seeing your smiling face again. Where have you been hiding, long time no see. Lucky you getting a Ferrari to celebrate your birthday, even if it wasn't for keeps. Anyway, great to see you again and wishing you a very Happy New Year 2025! 🙂

a bonus for the 300h is that it takes regular unleaded gas, no need for the premium saves one dollar a gallon in the u.s.a., seems to get about 44 or so miles to the gallon with regular driving. a real class sedan, everyone should atleast test drive one, be ready to buy because you will like everything about it, so will any passengers, very comfortable and very quiet ride.

After seeing the road test, I’m definitely considering the bZ4X for my next car. It’s an amazing electric vehicle that ticks all the boxes for technology, comfort, and sustainability.

Nice review. I have just bought a new RS5 sportback and it has amazing potention, but I'm running it in at the moment. I find the suspension a bit firm, particularly at low speed over poor roads. You mentioned the Audi All In warranty extension. I think it only applies to Audis with list price below £40k.

Driving a KUGA FHEV for 3 years. 19.000 miles (30.000 km). I got 53 mpg or about 5.3 l/100km. 70% in highway. Excellent mix 2.5 l and eCVT. Very very nice to drive.

Owned my (4.5 year old car now for 6 months and its great, not perfect, but great. Currently averaging 49 mpg over 6000 miles. I've previously owned the IS300h and also a LS430 (which I regret ever selling). Although someone mentioned the top speed and yes it is pathetic, it's not slow when it counts. Mine runs in eco mode for most of the time and even then, it accelerates just fine, and in the real world 112mph is plenty, it simply doesn't drive and accelerate like a car only capable of 112mph, it's not lack of power it's probably lack of gearing. I've come from a monster 435d, but in truth I only miss the power on overtakes, but not by much. I do take issue with the fact it's basically the same engine setup as the IS300h, which for a higher spec car, probably a lot heavier as well, I find is disappointing. I know Lexus don't have a huge range of engine options like BMW/Mercedes/Audi, but a bigger engine maybe a 3lr would have added a little more grunt and maybe top end. As with my IS the infotainment system is a bit pants. given its all software I'd love to sit down with the designers and developers and suggest some tweaks to make it more usable. The pinch zoom is dreadful, yet a tweak to the software you could make the track pad control the zoom in or out 'one level' at a time simply by pressing the top or bottom of the trackpad. Stopping the guidance is another pain, use the pad to track across to the menu selections, hit the pad, then you can choose to cancel, but to do so, you then have to track up to go up to Stop Guidance, bypassing options that you never use. Just change 'Stop Guidance' so it's immediately selectable. The radar cruise is great, but the consequence is sometimes it is too good and the slowing of speed almost imperceptible and you find yourself doing 50mph when you were previously doing 70. You only really notice by the fact that everyone is passing you. The track pad you do get used to, and it is not as bad as you first think it is. Treat it like you've picked up someone elses mouse that is either much more or less responsive as your own, at first you are all over the place but you do get used to it. However it will NEVER be as good as BMW's 'knob joystick', so so so much better. I can only assume BMW have patents so locked down that they can't be 'copied'. I've not worked out if the 10 year warranty is worth the cost of the annual Lexus service, but then again that is unmatched by any other car manufacturer (Toyota aside) let alone in the luxury car segment. One other downside is every single ES I have seen in my area is a taxi!................A good indication about reliability, livability, & economy.............but still One thing I do like is it doesn't over do the electronics, all the important functions are still buttons. Another thing is the central storage bin cleverly opens from both the drivers and passenger sides and it leaves a gap so the wire for phones and other devices can be run outside the storage bin. In summary, not massively powerful or exciting, but does the job and does it well on the whole.

Inoffensive styling and a bucket of equipment thrown its way, its quick enough and fairly economical as a lease it could fo a good job but given MGs reliability i dont fancy it for 7 years plus ownership and i dyspect residuals might be not the best.

I’m in Ireland & have the 1 litre AMT. I heard horror stories about this gear box but I’ve had this for 1.5 years & no problems. What I will say is that when you first start & temperatures are close to freezing, the “auto” gearbox is slow to change up. It feels that you’re over-revving the engine. In that case, I just move the gearstick to the right and use the manual to change up faster until the engine has warmed up. I also feel that the front pillar can restrict view when turning right at junctions. Boot is perfectly adequate for shipping as the standard bags fit perfectly. From your video, it’s not correct to say the seats don’t fold flat. They do but you just need to move the sitting part of the back seat.

With this latest model you lose 50% of rear view vision when the rear seat squabs are up, presumably due to the sub floor battery pack.
