There was once this civilization, it had fought and killed a space amoeba if enemy space, they thought nothing of it at the time, they would soon regret it. 20 or so long years later all that remained of the civilization were destroyed fleets floating in the void, for all of time.

My UNE in my current run is litterally the HFY Trope rn. I was doing a pacifist run (minus the devouring swarm on my northern border) when the chosen popped up in their territory. Now I'm the single most upteched mfer in the galactic Galactic North East. I've reconquered most of their captured worlds and territories. I had been making my neighbors protectorates the whole duration of the war and now that Ive finally Isolated The Chosen Ive begun to partition my subject's former territories and Homeworlds back to them. It feels good!

Nope. I was playing as robotic socialists, xenophilic, and conquered the galaxy with power of diplomacy. My federation was the biggest one, with me as the President, we gave a fair fight for the future to xenophobic parasites, e il robots and crisis from the outer space. Future was saved, galaxy now belongs to it's peoples, there was only prosperity in future.

I have 2000 hours in the game, personally i no longer enjoy conquest playthroughs. Diplomacy and federations are so much more enjoyable to me now

I still remember one of my more recent game saves. It was an MP save with a friend and I was kinda Democraticly vassalizing half the galaxy when they all kinda choose to rebel. Not realizing that their whole economy relied on me. Not a lot of planet cracking just alot of Neutron Sweeps. And about a toltal of 13 million fleet power killed off in only 30 years. While they weren't wiped out they definitely figured out the sayying fuck around find out. (And to anyone wondering why I went with sweeping instad of cracking its because there was alot of planets I wanted either cleaned. Any worlds I really wanted I took over.)

Plus all the needed DLC likely messed with the mods I have, I would just go snooping the steam workshop for mods that sound interesting because my most used mods were for performance in late game & expanded tech tree. Istg that doesn't matter how hard you try to change the narrative of your empire, it'll eventually end up as a supremacist in this game. Still though, I will never let my people to suffer under my rule. Ngl though, I tried to be a peaceful cooperative libertarian empire once, but somehow the others just keeps on pushing my limit, safe to say that i snapped after my allies and enemies keep on waging war over a goddamn relics that results in possibly hundreds of billion people died in each war.

The game primarily is designed that way, but it still offers so many ways to play. I have over 2000 hours and the amount of unique experiences ive had in this game is incredible. I find cooperative playthroughs the most easiest now when going for victories. Of course they're more boring (subjective) and time consuming but the possibility is there

My Human Imperium was a bully victim of every single nation as a weak and isolated. We were attacked by our neighbors regularly, with them stealing our resources and systems, humilating us further and further. With each taken system, taken system, our ability to defend grew weaker. Until one day, hope arrived. From hands of a pacifistic nation, Neko Serene Kingdom, who offered us their support. Simple little friendship, which grew into a defensive pact. Nekos were not strong or numerous, but it made other nations hesitate. Hesitate long enough... for humans to rise. With more breathing room, Human Imperium constructed brand new fleet and took back everything that was taken. One neighbor at a time, the Imperium conquered the surrounding area. And very soon, controlled over 30% of the galaxy. Fleets of mighty proportions were patrolling the borders, gigantic bastion stations were ready to defend against any threat. And of course, Neko Serene Kingdom gained a very powerful friend and eternal ally and protector. Out of all xenos, Nekos were the only ones allowed full citizenship and military service.

This made me want to get into Stellaris so bad. In the space of about 5 minutes I went from just narrowly liking the game to LOVING the game.
