Your voicing at "the wall" is very nice! It really pops out, which I find a lot of people are lacking in their renditions. For this quality of play, less than 1000 views is criminal!

Awesome note quality and emotion i can feel it, but as a person who currently can play this piece, 2 things are needed to elevate this to a much more professional level: note clarity 0:40-1:00, really hone in on the clarity there and for the later similar sounding section, and 2: dont mash the pedal the during the runs and the wall section, and the left hand arpeggios at 1:00, lots of pedal mashing there, it makes sound a little muddy, especially when a lot of notes are being played yk? anyways, you are better than 99% of players already, but to get to that resonating 1%, js implement those things clarity and careful pedaling throughout the piece, and play tthis as if you were the main character himself and imagine a story while playing, and the emotion and power really comes out, on the slow parts especially. I dont mean to be offensive or cocky or anything, this piece took me 11 months with 12 years experience for me to be satisfied, and the way you are progressing so far is better than I have. Good work so far tho, I enjoyed listening truly.

good one, the piano is a lil bit out of tune, but other than that, impressive.
@JonathanNitzan-q5p2 ай бұрын
You have the notes down and it sounds amazing! From what I'm seeing, your main mistakes are stemming from rushing a bit (the wall at full speed is painful to avoid clipping extra notes). The other thing is that parts of it should be played softer (for example the beginning is roughly about the same as the transition into the wall, where the beginning goes from soft to fortissimo to double fortissimo). After 10 minutes of revision, I can't find a way to give my feedback where it doesn't sound a bit forced upon you (I'm not a people person), so take my feedback with a grain of salt (you're way farther than I am into this piece, I've just know the theory from listening to unravel attempts and the original by Animenz a couple hundred of times).
@randomgamer90152 ай бұрын
Thanks for the feedback! I def rushed some of the middle parts with weird tempo and even the wall was played with 1.1 speed so Ive been working on fixing that. I also never really took dynamics seriously when I first learned piano and its resulted in some terrible habits but dynamics with this piece are super important and ill also try to incorporate that for sure.

thinking about starting playing piano, by training for a good amount of hours a day, how long would it take me to reach a good enough level to think about trying to learn it? (I played guitar for years, but now I have put it aside. I don't know if it's relevant to have already held an instrument, even if it's different).
@IlyaRafailov2 ай бұрын
This is a difficult piece to play. If you learn piano the usual way, starting from easy one hand pieces, I would say a couple of years. It depends really, how much you practice a day, self taught or with teacher, the right way, or synthesia way.
@someguy46882 ай бұрын
u cant start asap and push your self cause i remember when i was a beginner and decided to learn this made me a way better piano player
@randomgamer90152 ай бұрын
I agree w Ilya in that this piece is extremely difficult and after 4 months of practice I still can't play it perfectly. I have around 8 years of experience playing piano on and off and I quit for about 4 years, and came back to playing just to learn this piece. I don't know how much guitar skills transfer to piano but I don't think alot tbh, so u would prob need a couple years ;-;
@Simon-ow5ky2 ай бұрын
@@someguy4688 hmm, I did the same with guitar pieces. I'd start to play it when I was in middle school (classical guitar), then when I finished it I put it aside. After years (summer's last year) I picked it up again and started playing it again. However, I started with an electric guitar, and I started by playing that song that was all the rage on tiktok, it was juxtaposed with edits of Vinland Saga. After months of practice (6-8 months, I don't remember, I started in July/August 2023 and left it again around February-March this year, so 2024) I managed to learn Slash's godfather theme from Tokyo 92 (note for note). It took me about 20 days, but I was delighted in the end. Maybe it was because I learnt what I wanted so badly that I no longer saw a reason to go on (and I would probably do the same if I were to start playing the piano and wanted to learn how to play Unravel).
@JonathanNitzan-q5p2 ай бұрын
It isn't quite as bad as it's made out to be. With consistent practice (the couple of hours a day you're talking about) you could realistically play this in. Your guitar experience will help in reading the sheet music (to an extent), and I wouldn't focus on the complexity of the piece. No matter the complexity, after hours and hours of practice at a slower speed, it's always turns into muscle memory. After you can do it slowly, speed up. I have a couple of hours on a piano per week, about 45 min of actual practice on Unravel (and most of the time I do bad habits like not using a metronome), and after 2 months I have the first page and a half done at 70% speed.
