Hey, man! Great video. What do you make of the Presonus Quantum HD series? Thanks!
@Samwimer8 күн бұрын
Hey thanks so much for watching!! I’ve never had the chance to use them myself, but from what I have seen they are pretty dope! They have instrument outputs right on the front you can use for re-amping guitars and stuff which is cool. I think they come with like 6 months of Studio One as well which is awesome. Also they have a little screen on them which is just bonus points all the way😂 Audio quality is great on Presonus stuff

@@Samwimer Thank you very much for taking the time to reply! There aren't many videos out there yet about it. It comes with 12 months of the Pro + plan and after that you can keep the Basic (Pro) version forever.

Very nice and informative video! I am currently using a Behringer XM8500 for most things. But when my old audio interface broke last year, I had to use a little condenser mic for months, and it picked up so much crazy noise!
@Samwimer10 күн бұрын
One time when I was recording at home, my condenser was literally picking up the local radio frequencies and I heard the radio just in my headphones😂

Hello Sam. Congrats for the great video. Super noob question: should I plug my MPK mini directly to the interface, or to the pc? Thanks mate, regards from Spain.

Thanks so much for watching and the wonderful comment! Your MPK Mini will plug directly into your computer via USB port!👍🏻

Do you know if there is a calculation i could use to know how many panels will help with a larger room? And which type of insulation did you use? TIA
@Samwimer20 күн бұрын
There really are a lot of factors at play when it comes to sound absorption, so there isn't really just one equation to follow as far as I know. (Especially since every room is different ie. shape, materials used, etc.) HOWEVER you should definitely do some research on "early reflections" which are basically just the first time a sound wave hits an object. If you hang panels around the room (based on where the source is) you can block those early reflections which is where most of the heavy lifting is done. So analyze where the source is coming from, what kind of sound its emitting, and then hang panels from there! I definitely encourage doing some research on those early reflections. Also, I used mineral wool insulation specifically. I didn't wanna use anything with fiber glass and be breathing all that crap in lol. Hopefully this helps!

Absolutely misleading it’s not as simple as just turning lossless switch on. For iPhone you need to be wired to the headphones to get the lossless quality to work and for that you would probably have to purchase an external LDAC. Also apple does not transmit Bluetooth loss audio so there goes that.

Hi. thanks for the video! Really helpful. I actually just upgraded from a Rode NT1A to a TLM103 and was wondering whether I should upgrade from my Scarlett 2i2 2nd gen? I was thinking perhaps a 4th gen or a different interface altogether. Would this be an improvement in sound quality? Conscious that the 2nd gen is quite old (a decade?) and I want to get the most out of my TLM103. Would love to know your thoughts!
@Samwimer24 күн бұрын
Thanks so much for watching! First off you will be super happy with the TLM103 I feel, that is a fantastic microphone! I have some Nuemanns myself and they are my favorite to use. For your interface I would see how it sounds with your 2i2 first. If you are happy with that off the bat I wouldn't worry much about upgrading. If you were to upgrade though check out the Volt line of interfaces from UA. I have the 276 myself which I was holding in this video and I have been very happy with it personally. It has some vintage buttons and on board compression too which I feel would sound great with your 103!
@HarithHawas23 күн бұрын
@@Samwimer Thanks for the advice! The TLM 103 has been great, but not as great as I was expecting based on video reviews, so I think i'll upgrade. thanks again

Like I get the whole argument of audio quality on Apple Music, but I have some mid beats Bluetooth earbuds (that Apple manufactures) for my everyday listening needs. Lossless files are kinda pointless then, and guarantee you 90% of the Apple Music user base is in the same boat. The truth of the matter is audio quality and professional quality hardware go hand in hand, and good luck if you find a good headset under $300. Last but not least, the difference in sound is very slight, and I bet it's more a placebo for most folks than they like to believe.
