I'll stick with my federal HST. That polymer bullet knocked it of the rock, which seemed to cause more damage (falling to the ground) then the impact did.

How does weight and balance planning work for these C208? Do you place boxes where ever it fits or are each boxes weighted and positioned like in the belly compartment, etc.

Got to fly into Shemya in the KC-135R as an Aircraft Commander. Dropped off some equipment and folks. Winds went out of limits right after we landed. (25kt crosswind landing🫣). Winds were legal about 45 minutes later. Launched and flew back to Eielson AFB.

For those wondering why it still sounds "so loud", here are a few reasons: 1. The camera mic is of poor quality because of how old the video is, and the audio is compressed. It will sound different in real life. 2. Suppressors aren't like the movies. Guns are loud, and suppressors do their job by mitigating the flash and sound signature of the firearm. Their job is not to make the gun completely silent. However, there are specific examples of very quiet suppressed weapons using subsonic ammunition. 3. The uploader stated they were using supersonic rounds. When you hear a gunshot up close you are usually hearing two to three different sounds: 1. The muzzle report (what most people think of as the "gunshot"), 2. The action of the weapon cycling (if it's semi-automatic) and 3. The supersonic crack the bullet makes as it leaves the barrel. The suppressor does a good job at mitigating the muzzle report, but does nothing for the other two sounds. The snap you are hearing is a result of the bullet breaking the sound barrier. The same principle applies to fighter jets producing a sonic boom when they are travelling faster than the speed of sound. The bullets just do it on a much smaller scale, and so it's higher pitched and sounds like a firecracker rather than a thunderous boom. TL;DR: Supersonic bullets make a loud sound you don't normally hear without a suppressor. Guns with suppressors are still loud and don't make the gun silent like in movies and video games.

the camera mic is actually really good. that's basically what they sound like with supers. with subsonic ammo you get the same pop but no downrange echo because there's no sonic boom

Nice video, to get my virtual airline running realistic with this aircraft, is 1900lbs a fairly typical load? More payload going to Yakima from HUB or coming back, or about the same? How often would you get near the payload limit of around 3500lbs? What is the technique for balance, as much small stuff in the lower pod to keep the weight low down, or if the pod isn't needed, just use the main cargo deck? Cheers

Empire's operation of FedEx C208s is a well-oiled operation. Solid management of payloads and operations under part 135 and part 121 for their bigger aircraft. Pilots are the last step to ensure weight and balance is within operational limits. The number of aircraft and kind of aircraft and destinations are proprietary. Contact Empire operations in Coeur d'Alene to see if they will release this kind of information to you. Sorry I can't help.

what's the point of running a suppressor on 17WSM? It's a supersonic round. Like putting a hat on a hat mate. What's next? Suppressed 330 in mag? lol
