I'm a comparative newcomer to the music of the Steep Canyon Rangers, so I'm still learning what's "out there" - but so far, I think this is my favorite song of the band in this particular configuration :-) It's poignant... and makes me want to both smile and cry at the same time - which isn't a bad thing :-) <3 Thank you!

He also plays accordion (and has from the beginning of his career. The first song on his first album - On the Western Skyline - prominently features the accordion when he plays it live). In this, he's playing a dulcimer. He's been playing it for about 10 years and every show he plays with the Noisemakers features 3-4 dulcimer songs.

I cried my eyes put hard....I miss my friend and am eternally grateful for these moments we had. ..she is gone from this plane now I.miss her and I will be thinking of her at the show tomorrow night in Portland.
