The title of this video is hysterically funny when shortened in search results. "How Can Anybody Get Pregnant: Robert Winston" I came here solely because I thought Robert Winston was going to be the answer. I am very disappointed.

12.28 his own prediction might be wrong. From the research I've done as a science postgraduate, egg freezing live birth success rates are only marginally less than those using fresh eggs. However, the vast majority of women who freeze eggs don't go back to use them, so the population sizes in these studies tends to be quite small....Good science needs a large population sample.

His explanations are false. He selected the most suggestible person to prove that suggestion can strongly work without hypnosis. Ok, for the person he picked up, hypnosis is not necessary. But to get the same results with the other one, it's better to hypnotise them patiently before. And once they are able to get their fingers sticked too, or something else, you can get the same results.
@chrissidoetschmagic6 жыл бұрын
They are not wrong. I have never met a person for whom a traditional hypnosis would be necessary as , in essence, this would make no sence. The hypnotic, well known use of language is by no means something by itself. It is a conditioned response to something they have seen on Tv or heard of prior to the actual occasion. They are familiar ith the kind of formula hypnotists use and thus assume that this Formula is vital for it to work

I think TEDMED should be the first to provide the clearest of disclaimers, revealing to anyone interested the nature of this ultimate lie and stupidity this pseudoscience represents. This blind belief in this nonsensical technology has resulted in the most grotesque suffering in a number of patients.

@@KurtLongDizzle He hears different frequencies with the antenna. The antenna detects a colour and then plays a frequency and his brain picks it up. He is able to differentiate and understand different colours, in a different way than the rest of us. He perceives colours, through sound, rather than through vision like most people, and he is also able to perceive more colours than what we can see, such as ultraviolet.

I am currently writing my dissertation on 'The Effectiveness of Motivational Interviewing in Treating Pathological Gamblers'. Treatment is of high importance, but ultimately, the government has to step in and change the current legislation. The Gambling Act 2005 is the core issue in my opinion, as it gives the betting shops far too much power to advertise and open in any area of their choice, often in the most deprived areas of Britain.
