Yup the hedge funds have access to very strong valuation models. They've probably realized the stock is in the overvalued territory due to the overwhelming positivity in the news. Just wait and buy the dips.

RSP will likely perform better than SPY if this bubble in the big tech stocks bursts, similar to what happened in the dot com bubble. If you’re worried about a drawdown on your positions and you have 100+ shares I would look into running a protective collar option. Hardest part is timing it as the old saying goes “The market can stay irrational longer than you can stay solvent,” like in the dot com bubble many knew the bubble was getting worse but top name stocks kept going up anyway. There has to be a catalyst that shifts the momentum though and that’s asking for a black swan, which the timing and outcome are unknown.

Dow will likely be less impacted than QQQ or SPY as I believe its price weighted, and after the stock split NVDA has a lower weighting for Dow, but I’m not sure when/how often the index rebalances.

Yeah I can see a few use cases but not in what we're presented. I had quite a laugh at Apple's keynote displaying what apple intelligence is all about... Yeah right I always wanted to generate a dino surfing (or something) I also had a chuckle at Gemini and their "accuracy" problems. I as a German didn't know the things I now know 😅
@TheFinancialMinutes
@TheFinancialMinutes 6 сағат бұрын
Gemini promised A LOT and it was extremely useful when the model first came out. I got it to perform pretty complex tasks in the beginning but it seemed to get dumber over time, and began leading me down rabbit holes. This was likely due to too much influx of uncharted data. I think Sora is taking a smart approach using film producers as guinea pigs. The solution will probably be having a set of prompts to choose from similar to Gemini's home screen, and then go from there for the layman that doesn't understand how to prompt AI. Still haven't watched Apple's Intelligence unveil but considering it's utilizing OpenAI, idk how promising it'll actually be. It would be interesting if they partnered with Google and other LLM's as well to give the end user choices.

@@TheFinancialMinutes Keep in mind that all the AI/LLM thingies need one thing. For you to double and triple check if what they spew out is actually factually the truth. Nether if them do at some point. The more you let them run (on the same question) the more they trip over their own feet I know this is the begining of this whole new economy! There is more to come and ist coming fast Sora is cool. Imagine movie night but instead of you picking what hollywierd is putting out these days you could type in a few Keywords and a new series will be created for you ( I'm oversimplifying here I know but the potential is here....and to be honest we all know what this will be used for eventually :$)
@TheFinancialMinutes
@TheFinancialMinutes 4 сағат бұрын
Exactly! There needs to be an AI fact checker built into the LLMs or a third party you can put the output into to verify its claims. Without this people will blindly post misinformation, since it seems like LLMs are horrible with confirmation bias. Seems to me like 99% of the time they will provide the answer you want to hear rather than providing any evidence why your train of thought may be incorrect.

@@user-vm5ps9ik8c why is it wrecked? I assume you are invested in an etf because you aren’t doing day trading (stability is your main concern). Nvidia isn’t going to zero. They likely drop then stabilize much higher than they started when the AI hype began. Unless your etf was mostly nvidia and you only bought in recently when it was record high, I don’t see the issue. If that was the case, then you invested without understanding and you have to carry that blame/ learn this lesson the hard way.

MU was priced for perfect earnings so they needed a triple beat on EPS, revenue, and guidance. Since they didn’t beat guidance their stock is taking a dip but I think the entire semiconductor industry is in for a correction. SOXX beat SPY 2X over and semis are cyclical so when we go into a recession, demand will slow and stock prices have more room to fall than other industries.

NVIDIA isn’t blatantly killing off chips mid use like when Enron would tell power grid operators to make up ways to turn off plants “The utility says an Enron employee and a worker at a power plant in Las Vegas, Nevada, made up phony repairs, taking the plant off-line January 17, 2001. "We want you guys to get a little creative ... and come up with a reason to go down," the Enron worker tells the plant employee on one of the tapes. "Anything you want to do over there? ... Cleaning, anything like that?" the Enron employee says. "Yeah, yeah," the other replies. "There's some stuff we could be doing." Eric Christensen, the utility's assistant general counsel, said the tapes show Enron was planning to manipulate Western power markets as early as 1998 -- before California's deregulated energy market opened.” It would be more akin to Elon selling his stock to take down a social media giant.
