@@therchotspotYeah it's disappointing with the CVD pins, it's strange as in my kagama I'm still running my original cvd's from my shogun that are over two years old, never had an issue, but a few people I've seen have this issue with the 6 and 4 kagamas, ?

Yeah, my 6s Kagama took a while to break the pin. And after speaking with Team Corally, they think the 4s was a defect. It will be covered under warranty.

Nice build I have a couple suggestions if you unplug those plugs for the receiver and solder them in removing the pins you'll be able to get a body on without cutting it. Also those brushless motors have enough torque you should be able to gear it up for more speed no problem. Also these things have a pretty wicked under steer I found putting an extra set of rear tires on the front, replacing them skinny front tires adds a little more weight and improves the handling. Also rear tires on the front time to look pretty cool has a truggy look about it. Also take your steering linkages and flip them over that little kink in the linkage clears the shocks better and doesn't bang against them. And pardon any punctuation or spelling in this I'm using voice to text on letting the phone type it out😂

I know it's been a while since you made this video but I see you're still making videos so hopefully you'll still see this comment. So the arm that you broke it was the old arm before the updated versions? Because I've got the new release of the machete with the updated arms and everything and so far dude I have definitely mangled it a couple of times and the only thing that's happened so far is the rear steering knuckle screw came out but all I had to do is take the screw out and put it back together nothing is broken so far and I've hit pretty damn hard not probably that hard but pretty am hard anyway thanks man appreciate the videos lets me see some of the cool stuff that I can do soon

So far I haven't used my wheelie bar yet I've only rented about four or five times all just kind of playing around practicing with it kind of getting used to it. However today I pulled the center deaf and I packed the shit out of it with ear plug because I didn't have any 20 million dip fluid right now I have one 6S 5200 mi 120 c battery unit and a jumper on the other side and I've got the punch turned up to nine. It absolutely roasts oh and I've got a 19 tooth pinion gear on it first off the 19 tooth pinion gear really makes a massive massive difference I haven't even run it on stock I changed the gear before I ever got the batteries but I have run it on an 18 tooth just seeing how that went and it is noticeably different from the 18 to 19 tooth so I imagine the 15 tooth is even more noticeable. If I can't stand a wheelie now the way it is that I think I'm going to go with like the Max 8 with the G2 combo and the 4278 SD motor because that thing looks like a beast it's more than half the cost of the car itself but I think with that in there this thing will be unfucking stoppable

The motor is fine, but the problem is that ESC. It's a non-programmable crawler ESC so it's stuck with crawler settings. Ideally you want the drag brake off or around 5-10% not 90-100% like these ESCs have. You also want brakes, which these ESCs don't have, they instead have instant reverse. It works in a pinch, but it's far from ideal with that ESC for sure.

@tjgetem3783
@tjgetem3783 Ай бұрын
@therchotspot that's because you ran the truck on 6s witch is too much anyways . That's the problem with the hobby they're putting to much power in these vehicles witch does nothing but ruin the rc. You can't Even reach the top speed on 6s because it can't remain stable and bashing on 6s is ridiculous that'll break any rc why send your rc 25 feet In the air and expect it not to break . I have an mt8 and I run it on 4s and haven't broken a single part since I've had it . I think it's just a 6s problem . I agree the plastic are a bit brittle but that's good for racing witch is what team associated is known for. That red cat is garbage that's probably why you're stripping all the parts off of it 😆 . Great video though bro not hating on you just hating on redcat lol
@therchotspot
@therchotspot Ай бұрын
I know you aren't hating on me, but not sure why you are hating on Redcat. I didnt strip parts off my kaiju because I didnt like it, lol. I did it because they are more flexible and I wanted to give people options on what to use. I also did it so I could get content out fast without waiting for parts at the time. In fact I still have both Kaijus, bash them both, and got rid of the MT8. Bashing on 6s is what the truck was marketed for so that's what I did. I agree, 4s is enough for the truck, but plastics being brittle had nothing to do with the power. Sending it only 10 to 15 ft in air is what broke it and you can do that on 4s or 6s. We aren't talking about moving parts that broke, we are talking about plastic arms that couldn't take the stress of 10 to 15 ft jumps. My Kaijus can and still do. But I know there some out there don't have problems with the MT8. Maybe or driving styles are different, maybe the dont what I was doing. Who knows, but for my experience and driving, the Redcat parts worked better. I'm glad you are one of the ones who didn't have problems with yours. Happy to hear people are still enjoying the car.

You haven't had any trouble with the plastic axles? And so, she has a bad Hobbywing ESC. Where does that now put the reliability factor on this Redcat? Another Redcat that can't even take it's rating. You had this problem and did all that other work anyway? I'd of had that back in the mail sending it back to wherever it came from. Especially if I paid for it. No one's paying me to sort out their problems.
@therchotspot
@therchotspot Ай бұрын
@dannysdailys I haven't had any problems with the driveshafts. As far as the ESC goes, I needed to see if it was the batteries I was using, the adapter for the battery, or something I was doing first like the grass I was driving in etc. Doing the work is part of the joy for me. Besides, this truck has been a tank. Aside from the esc problem I had, it takes punishment. It is good truck and I have other escs to use if needed
@dannysdailys
@dannysdailys Ай бұрын
@@therchotspot Batteries you were using? You had a 4s battery in a 4s car, yes? How long have you been doing this? You didn't answer my question, is Redcat going to replace your bad ESC? All I hear is how great they are for service. What kind of warranty does it have?
@therchotspot
@therchotspot Ай бұрын
Yes its a 4s battery but c ratings have a lot to do with it. Some escs can run 4s but at a lower c rating. Also I was running a battery adapter and in taller grass which all could have been a factor. This was the second of the videos I did for this car so I was still figuring it out. Not everyone has had the same issue as me. And in your comment you didn't ask if I got the esc replaced. You asked about reliability in which I responded by saying "aside from the esc problem I had, it takes punishment". Anytime i have had an issue and said something to Redcat the have been good replacing it. You can look back at my videos I did 2 to 3 years ago ( been doing it videos for awhile, rcs even longer) on my Kaiju ext and the problems it had. Redcat was good about sending out new parts. This is the first time I have had issue with any of their electronics. Not sure what is upsetting you, but thank you for watching the video.

Ya bro. That body ain’t gonna last even with all that reinforcement they put on there the front hood and grill spot gonna get all smashed up. But the bed will stay just fine. On the shocks. I put 55 in my shocks. The replacements ones they sent and I haven’t had a problem with them at all since. And I put mine like 30 feet in the air everytime I go out. Other than that these lil rigs are tuff as rusty nail. I have found every time I run my higher charge rate batteries it will cut off like urs did. But when I run like a 50c it’s cool. I love the Valkyrie. It’s a fun lil truck.
