What did you do to make the Sophie Scarf bigger than the pattern? I like the one you made.

This is the Sophie Shawl pattern, which is different than the Sophie Scarf. I can't give the exact pattern away, but if you take the Sophie Scarf pattern and increase every 7 or 8 rows, you will get something very similar.

Hi, Melissa, The strawberry beanie is adorable__gotta make one for myself since I love strawberries! 😛 Your sweater looks nice and cozy, Sophie shawl looks good, too! I love that orange yarn, even though that color doesn't look great on me. Re: the Poppy Tee, depending on which skein you started with, I would just 'grade' the yarns in that order. Sometimes it's hard to tell the actual shades on device screens(on my tablet it doesn't look too off, so)__I would just knit a few rows in a fade fashion when adding each successive skein. The fabric is beautiful__I would hate to frog it over such a slight shade difference, make it work in your favor. 💖🙌😺

Try irish lever knitting. You can KZbin the term. Stephanie McPhee comes up. This style knitting saved my wrists. Re ribbing try Norwegian purl method.

I would contact Espace Tricot and express your concerns. I think they should let you return them postage paid and issue you a refund or exchange for a diffenent yarn. Each skein is a completely different blue. How could anyone be expected to knit them all in one garment and not have the garment look off?

Love the strawberry hat! I’m definitely going to have to make one for my best friend’s daughter. And I feel like if you’re questioning it, you’re trying to convince yourself you’ll like it. If you have any doubts I’d frog! You can always use the yarn for a different project with a more color block feel.

It’s making a beautiful fabric. Too bad about the colour variation though, it seems a lot. Have you reached out to Espace Tricot for advice? I agree with alternating skeins, though a bit challenging since you are already carrying 2 elements, adding another would require more patience, but would solve the issue. I’d also plan the skeins so that the darkest are at the bottom of the garment. I’m doing the same right now.

Ooh I never considered adding the darker skeins to the bottom of the garment. Great advice!

I unfortunately vote for frogging your Poppy... If the color blocking is bothering you while you're knitting it, I don't think you'll be any happier with it as an FO. The fabric is really beautiful though!

I have a suggestion. It’s super easy to use The Easy Alternator method to alternate skeins and therefore blend the yarns. Prof Purl has a tutorial on her KZbin channel. It’s completely invisible and super easy! Best of luck with whatever you decide. - Pamela

Yayy so happy to see a new episode from you. Those socks!! 😍 they’re gorgeous. If you still have yarn leftover, maybe you could knit a small swatch (not even with the complicated colorwork, but just stripes or so) and block it the way you’d do the sock, to see if the colour bleeds. My favourite sock pattern so far is the vanilla sock! I’ve tried a colorwork one that I loved, but there’s something so soothing about a good old vanilla sock ☺️

Lovely podcast! I love the 52 Weeks of Socks book published by Laine. So far I knitted the Garia socks and I'm currently working on the Dear Björn socks. So, basically, anything and everything from that book! If it were me, I'd restart the June Top! Plain stockinette in the round is such a pleasure for me personally. I watch TV while doing it, so any opportunity to do more stockinette in the round, I take! The Ripple Top won't be too small as long as the cast on/cast off edges are loose enough to get over your body. I always cast on and off with needles that are a couple sizes bigger than called for by the pattern to make sure it's not too tight. The ribbing, however, will stretch for miles!

I make socks for my husbands size US 12-1/2 EE foot and call them Fred Flintstone socks. For wool I cast on 54 stitches, knit top down with 1 X 1 twisted rib and knit forever with my preferred heel of eye of partridge and then the foot goes on and on. For sock weight using 2.5mm 9 inch round circs I cast on 72 stitches . Enjoyed your podcast. Maybe use a couple of color catchers when you block your socks?

Your channel popped up on my front page today so I've just given both of your episodes a watch and have now subscribed 😁 Looking forward to seeing more from you! I totally get the 'trust the pattern' fear - I recently made a Pure Mesh by James N Watts and it looked like it would only fit a toddler before I tried it on 🤣 Fingers crossed that your top works out well! My favourite sock pattern I've made so far is the Kitty Ankle Socks by Inorgaknit, although I don't like ankle socks so I did a slightly longer leg, and I used Earth Tone Girl's shadow wrap heel (I love her no fear sock knitting videos). I did the kitties in colours to match my parents' cats 😸I've been wanting to cast on a new pair of socks so I'm planning on casting on Hermione's Everyday Socks in Gryffindor colours for my Mum for Christmas (getting started early, ha!).

Enjoyed your podcast. My favourite sock pattern is just a plain pair of vanilla socks with a heel flap and gusset or Hermione's everyday sock pattern which to be fair is not far from the pattern I use for vanilla socks. You can add a little vinegar to your water to stop bleeding. Knit a small swatch and test it out before blocking your beautiful socks.

I think your sock looks better than mine!! You could try braiding some of the red and white scraps together and soaking that and see if the red bleeds onto the white? Also sometimes I use the fish lips kiss heel instead of the short row heel that i wrote in the pattern - don't tell any one haha. also p.s. to have chapters work in your video description you have to have one that starts at 00:00 ;) And my mushroom socks are probably my favourite sock pattern but also these days I have been leaning more towards heel flap and gusset constructions <3

My favorite sock pattern is the Hermione’s Everyday socks because it uses a simple repeat that results in a beautiful texture that go very well with variegated indie dyed yarn.
