This is a confusing tutorial. None of the template pieces are labeled/numbered. Just L and R. You've shown WHAT was done without showing HOW.

this turned out absolutely gorgeous! i’m using it to build my new gauntlets, and i’m gonna try one long piano hinge the full length of the gauntlet so it can’t be misaligned

I have seen a lot more people lately using Sintra for their cosplay. when I tried to heat form Sintra, the front and back layers separated from the foam core and caused highly uneven edges. I suppose I was doing something wrong, but no idea what it would be.
@JHJArt Жыл бұрын
It sounds like your problem is with the type of sintra you used. Sintra is sometimes called "foam board" but not all foam board is sintra. You want to use something that doesn't have layers. Sintra is not supposed to be soft on the inside. It should be more like hard plastic or pvc. This is what I used: a.co/d/c2tr2v7

After four long years, the armor is finally finished! (Well, almost) I made it from scratch out of sintra, eva foam, and pvc pipe. Wearing it at the Sand Dunes was an experience I'll never forget. Thank you for all the amazing comments, they motivate me to keep going 😎 Special thanks to friends and family who supported and encouraged me as I worked on this project! Shout out to my parents and sister who hiked the dunes with me and helped me suit up. 😀 More videos coming soon!

Pretty cool stuff! I have been thinking about a working gauntlet knife for the last day or 2. My idea was to replace the metal blade for a plastic blade in a OTF knife and then build the OTF into a gauntlet but seems like blade would be too small (thinking of a way to get maybe a 8 inch blade to work). Might I ask the details of how your knife deploys and closes? Were you able to deploy your knife by wrist movement? ..... You could totally make a functioning flame thrower by mounting a propane torch tank or mini coleman bbq tank in the jetpack and running a line, now that would be something! I also thought about ripping a Taser apart and mounting the parts in a gauntelt (gauntlet that fires taser darts LOL) but I realized my thinking is getting a little carried away for a Halloween costume.

Hey I know I’m asking on a 2 year video, but what kind of paint did you use? I got a noble 6 helmet from halo but the colors are wrong and I have to repaint it.
@JHJArt Жыл бұрын
I used Rust-Oleum spray paint, specifically "metallic" for the gold and "hammered" for the grey. For the weathering I used regular black acrylic paint and silver metallic acrylic paint.
