My puppy Scooter has a extra claw or toenail and I think it bothers him from time to time. If it gets stuck on my carpet or bedding. I'm also worried because he loves to chew things that he shouldn't be. Luckily I've been there to remove it from him. But I can't always be there. Plus he needs to be vaccinated and fixed and I'm on a fixed income 😔 what should I do because I don't want to lose my baby boy Scooter.

I was researching how to get insurance for my pet

I'm dealing with pet insurance claims hell right now. One claim was submitted for parasites three days before the 2 week initial period was reached. Several weeks after all initioa time periods expired, a different issue not related to parasites has occurred. After nearly $4000 in claims, they have all been denied because instead of being listed as spinal and rear leg issues, the company listed every claim as parasites which they said is a preexisting condition. I won't name the company yet because I think they ALL use the same scam type behavior. I am in the appeals process now and whichever way that turns out, I will be filing a complaint with my state Insurance Commissioner and will probably hire a lawyer. The unnecessary emotional stress that our family is being put through is completely incompressible.

I’m sorry you're having to deal with that. The problem here isn't necessarily the insurance company. If the claims form completed by the vet has an inaccurate diagnosis and medical information, the insurance company bases its claim approval/denial largely on that diagnosis. This is especially true for pre-existing conditions since they are not covered or have strict guidelines for when they will cover specific pre-existing conditions. But this can be a simple fix if the only issue with the claim was an incorrect diagnosis. You should contact your vet and request the resubmit your claim with the correct diagnosis which should then be covered if there weren't any other stipulations with the claim. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Here's my personal opinion on Pet Insurance. Toooo many complaints online and BBB regarding most of the Insurers, claims denied, takes too long to get payouts, stalling to payout with requesting more documentation which had already been forwarded. My biggest pet peeve, the force autopay on ones credit card, which I never permit or refuse to do business with you! Therefore, I refuse to do business with them. Premiums doubling or more annually. Sorry, I don't trust them, feels like a scam which most Insurers are. I go with my gut and it tells me no. This video is nothing but an advert trying to drum up business. If you look into rates, you are bombarded with constant emails, which I find unacceptable! Bogging down my inbox with this nonesense

This sounds very much like the issues that I'm dealing with in the comment above.

What about vaccination
@HansSeeberg-nd7zw2 ай бұрын
An accident and illness plan doesn't usually cover vaccinations - these would be covered by an add-on Wellness plan. A good way to look at it is that pet insurance is there for the things you don't know are going to happen, like accidents and illnesses, whereas a Wellness plan is there for the things you do know are going to happen, like vaccinations. I hope this helps!
