No primer or clear coat?
@1936Studebaker
@1936Studebaker Ай бұрын
No I didn't need primer as I never rubbed it completely back to the plastic, I only sanded back the clear coat and scuffed back the original silver paint. I did finish it off with automotive clear coat (in a can) but I waited 5 days before applying just to make sure the paint was 100% dry.

Control blade bushing, to save a few dollars Im going to replace the bushing and not the control blade. As soon as I retired I bought a 4 tonne 2 post hoist to put less strain on my bilateral knee replacements.

I didn't rush it, I cleaned/degreased everything and let it dry, I think I did it over the course of 2 1/2 days, I could have done it quicker but I had no pressure on me to have it finished in a day.

@1936Studebaker
@1936Studebaker 7 ай бұрын
Sounds like one of three things, your rear end is moving around (worn bushes) putting strain on your drive shafts which puts strain on the bearing or your drive shafts are out of balance or bent. Could also be the pinion bearing? I replaced a Centre shaft support bearing 7 years ago and it's still going strong. From what I understand there were two different centre shaft support bearings for the early Territory's, they have a different size ID, the one on mine was 35mm if I remember rightly.

I did put plenty of silicone in the corners near the crank shaft ends. I did retention the sump bolts after 2 weeks and found they did need it.

It was truly the first time doing rear tailing arms for me so what you see is what I actually saw, even if you get one thing out of the video like confidence to try it yourself that makes me happy.

Hi everyone, now has come the time for me to ask for help. Soon I'm going to need to start working on the doors of the truck. Now my chevy was easy, no glass no tracks, none of all those things you need when you have a closed cab door. On the chevy it was just a matter of using C channel on 3 sides and the top of the door skin just slide over the top of the sides and it was done. How do I construct these doors? Using C channel, square tubing, building a skin out of thin gauge sheet metal, building a tubular frame and fit a thin gauge sheet metal shin over the top? If anyone has ever constructed a door from just the door skin any advise would be much appreciated or if you can point me too any videos here on KZbin that would be great too.
